I have a peppermint plant that I love for tea. It flowered three months ago and then it died. Or went dormant. I'm not sure. I hadn't been cutting much from it.

Honestly, I'm not sure the best way to harvest herbs in general. Some kind of worm came and ate every last bit of the cilantro that was above ground. I put the plant next to the compost to get rid of it but didn't get to it right away. Within 3 days, I had a cilantro plant that looked better than the one the worms ate. For comparison's sake, I planted parsley at the same time as the cilantro and the cilantro looks so much better since the worms ate all the old stuff.

I live in zone 7. I have the cilantro and parsley in large buckets so I can move them out of the hottest of the sun. I have thyme, Texas tarragon, oregano, and peppermint planted in a location that gets 7-9 hours of sun a day, but the shadow of the house blocks a large portion of the southern sun.

Any advice is so welcome. Thanks.
