Green Cuisine makes packaged vegan cheese now! It's called Mocheez and I'm too scared to try it. I inspected it in the restaurant and it looks like Vegan Gourmet/FYH, but the ingredients are way different. It might be delicious, but I'm reluctant to try it since GC's packaged products seem to have gone downhill over the years (RIP, delicious BBQ tempeh burgers). Someone take one for the team! Not sure if it's jumped island or made it into stores yet. http://www.greencuisine.com/mocheez

Quite intrigued by this as according to their website it's lower in fat than other vegan cheese. Am very curious to check out the ingredients. Where did you see it?

Update! I tried it. It is the most vile fake cheese substance I have ever had the misfortune to taste. It's got a sweetness to it and a horrible texture. Shudder.

It is crazy gross. The primary ingredients are brown rice syrup and sunflower oil. Does that scream delicious vegan cheese? It's weird because it looked like FYH when it was still in the package, so I thought it would be similar (and I don't mind FYH for what it is), but wow. Nastytown.

I bought some of the mozzarella at the green cuisine last week-end and the guy warned me that it was only for cooking! Since I'm going to use it for pizza it should be alright. They must have had a lot of complaints. If that's what they're using in their potato gratin it can't be that bad.

When I last had their gratin (I think I had cauliflower and it was the bomb!) they were using Daiya, but that was probably two years ago at this point.
