There are some great vegetarian options, but it is still quite limited. (Whenever I go out with my partner, it's like riding a bicycle through our three or four options). Do not forget the Zen garden!

Jane Bond exists and they've recently updated their menu...they make awesome enchiladas/burritos!! i like this place. lotus tea house is the best food i've had in k-w. i also love raintree, their chickpea curry on rice is AMAZING. and i really like ben thanh, seven shores, thrive (a new-ish juice bar with lots of sandwiches and stuff), and spring rolls which is in the mall and makes really good sushi. not all veg but quite a few veg options. sushi stars makes the best sushi.
then there is also Cafe Pyrus which is downtown kitchener across from the bus terminal. their stuff is all veg*n but i was totally unimpressed by their food the two times i tried it - i gave up after that. their chai lattes aren't even that good, but it is very popular and people seem to love it. the duke street muse (all veg*n) isn't very good, either. their food is okay but nothing special.

if you can make it out to guelph, i'd recommend the Cornerstone. the service isn't always the best but the food is really forking good, the chickpea walnut burger is the best forking burger you'll ever eat. plus their cowboy cookies are good to take home for breakfast or a snack. :>

my husband and I LOOOOVE Classic Indian Cuisine, in Waterloo. It looks like a hole from the outside, but the buffet is 90% vegetarian (probably 75% vegan) and if you tell them you're vegan they will make you a separate entree so you aren't missing out on another option at the buffet. Really really good food. Fresh, clean spicy. So delicious. The chai tea is some of the best I've ever had. Great place. I think its on Weber, but I could be wrong.

We went to this weird little place off the 401 / Homer Watson Exit called Mango King a few weeks ago. I wasn't stoked about going there but my in-laws wanted to stop there for lunch. Boy, am I glad we did! THIS is what they brought out to me! It was pretty epic for being this little weird place in a weird part of town.

does anyone know where to find sheese in k-w? they used to have it at green door but that store closed like 3 years ago, and i don't think i've seen it anywhere since. actually, i saw it at eating well organically a couple of years ago, but...they don't carry it anymore.....

I just moved to Waterloo. If anyone has any advice on where to get good stuff at a good price, or any advice about the area in general it would be awesome. Thanks.

i changed my mind about cafe pyrus - i've eaten there a few times now, and it's good. like really good. their tempeh burger is amazing, they have vegan aioli, their chai-banana smoothie is great, they have yummy baked goods, their quesadillas are good, omg, i like it a lot lot.
finnophile, sorry i'm so late to the thread. hopefully you are navigating your way around! eating well organically on king street has good prices and lots of bulk food, their prices are comparable to zehr's and cheaper than other health food stores in the area. check out healthy foods + more on devitt/bridgeport, yummy baked goods, lots of gluten free and vegan stuff.
if yo'ure still looking for tips in the area let me know.
