Yum. I haven't been to saravanaa bhavan in a couple of years. If you ever find yourself in mississauga, Guru lakshmi has awesome dosas too! http://www.dosacorner.ca/ It's a really popular place, so sometimes you have to wait a bit to get a table. They really squish you into this restaurant. I really want to get down to udupi palace some day too.

I want to find Glenn Gould's grave (among others) but yes, it's historic and lovely and I can't believe I've lived here two years now and have yet to visit. Next nice free day I have on a weekend, I do plan to at least take a stroll through myself and check it out. I love cemetaries, too.

a++ for udupi palace. spring dosa (spicy potato and onion, carrot, cabbage, peas, tomato, and spicy chutney wrapped in a thin crispy crepe, served with lentil soup and coconut chutney). i'm now crazy for dosa, but there are none near guelph.

i'm crying because that bake sale is during the hours that i work tomorrow. exactly. CRY.
oh, and i've been to hot beans now, and can i say major donut love? i've had a coconut lime donut & an espresso glazed one and they were both A.MA.ZING. though i liked the coconut lime one better. i also had their tvp tacos and they were great, but i could have eaten like 20 million of them. i'll go for a burrito next time. i'm also curious about the bbq jackfruit but i was really not impressed by jackfruit when i tried to make it so i'm reluctant to spend $9 on it now. and not to toot my own horn (just kidding), but usually i'm impressed by stuff i make.
and that "hello vegan" zine they've got in there is cute, i got one even though the information in it wasn't new to me. it's always a nice reminder to re-read those kinds of things. :D

Ah so sorry we missed you. I didn't even leave my house till 11:15, so we didn't get started till about 11:45. Boo to that. But got some good news. An owner of a shop in Kensington wants to sell our goodies from his storefront because he thinks they'll go great with his coffee :) Yay!! Going to talk to him this week. It's that step we've been waiting for..
And ok. Got to eat some tacos soon..

semiautomatic - hot beans is pretty great, i think :) i've already spent my extra money for this week (d'oh - beer & expensive makeup from panacea** are my weaknesses, apparently!) but i'm looking forward to going there next week and trying a burrito! pro tip: get a donut.
** i know this is probably old news, but i am SO SO happy panacea sells makeup!! i've lost patience for intensive label-scrutinizing at shoppers or sephora. so far the ecco bella mascara seems to hold up pretty well. i biked in the rain and wind (which always makes my eyes water terribly) last night and i didn't show up to my friend's birthday party looking like a soggy raccoon, so that's good.

yeah label checking is a pain in the asparagus when it comes to makeup. i haven't looked at the makeup at panacea yet but i'll be there the same day i eat at hot beans!! yay! and i'll definitely get a donut. :D
thanks for the info about ecco bella mascara, too.

also, ppk boards, i love you. i was getting all "meh" about the job i just got - it's a little breakfast place on roncy, which is ok i guess, but it's a whole lot of cooking eggs. a) i'm kind of uncomfortable with that and b) i don't really know how to do that. and it's not like i can practice my skillz with cooking eggs at home. plus there's a few operational things that are getting on my nerves already there. and one of my resolutions moving back here was to find work at a veggie place. um. keep your fingers crossed for me dudes! <3 (and no hard feelings if someone else from here gets the job!)
