This Saturday, another vegan bake sale is being held. Only 2 outdoor ones left in 2011! https://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?e ... 7191395865Please join Omega Creations for a long weekend bake sale. We will have a table set up right next to Aspetta Cafe in Kensington Market. There you can enjoy a coffee/tea prepared by Sam, while munching on some of our goodies. We will have all kinds of autumn-type goodies - including cookies, butter tarts, apple pies etc. This time around we will also have more gluten-free options, including whoopie pies, and butter tarts. We are also taking custom orders that customers can pick up during this day..

I'm going to be organising monthly Veggie Drinks events for the Toronto Vegetarian Association, and the first one under my tuteledge is happening next week, on Thursday October 20. It'll be held in the front room at the Free Times Cafe, which has vegan and veggie options on its menu. The filmmaker of Maximum Tolerated Dose will be presenting, and there'll be a door prize from Ethical Deal. I hope some PPKers can make it out! Info here: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid= ... 292&ref=ts

Hi! I'm going to be in Toronto for just over a week around Christmas/New Years. Can anyone recommend to me things to do/thing that will be open during the holiday period. I've only ever been to TO once and it was only for a day.

Oh man, schwa, there is so much to do and see in Toronto! What sort of things are you into? Music, art, theater, etc? I usually recommend the website blogto.com, it gives a pretty good overview of the city. Take it with a grain of salt though, some of the contributers/commenters are full of it! LOL! It's gonna be cold, so in door stuff I would recommend in general would be things like the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO, if you are on a budget, it's free on Wednesday night and you could easily spend a couple of hours there) and the new TIFF lightbox (see some good movies but they also have a gallery). Outdoor skating is always fun. I recommend Harbour Front center over the more poplar Nathan Philips square. trust me, Harbour front is less crowded and you are right on the lake so it's very pretty on a crisp day.

schwa, my ideal day in Toronto would be spent noshing food at one of the many vegan restaurants, then going to the Royal Ontario Museum or the Art Gallery of Ontario, and then catching some culture in Kensington market. I LOVE Toronto.

Kensington Market is definitely one of my favourite spots in the city. There are some good vegan or vegan-friendly restaurants there and it's great for people-watching. I agree on the rec about the Harbourfront Centre as well, for skating. I'd check out BlogTO and Torontoist for ideas, especially closer to the event -- they always post about things going on in the city. I've created a Facebook group for the new Veggie Drinks events, for the interested!

pedestrian sunday at kensington today!
my partner and i went to hot beans for lunch, and i had the most amazing meal: 2 tacos (one bbq jackfruit, one tvp; whatever they do with their tvp, is way too good) with a side of beans.

Hi to all Torontonians.. Instead of kickstarter, I found a website to help fundraise for a vegan cafe (etc.) in Toronto. We've fundraised a chunk of cash through our outdoor bake sales. Now onto something else as well.. http://www.indiegogo.com/Spreading-the- ... 420&i=addr

Quote: Yowza! Is anyone up for a vegan Sunday brunch meetup at the Windsor Arms? Sounds good, I'd be into it! They had me at "gluten-free pancakes."

Hey guys, I'm looking to have a restaurant review done for a Toronto-based publication newsletter - which new eating places are your favourites? It could be a full-service restaurant or a bakery or a juice bar or whatever. Preferably in the city of Toronto. Thanks!

I was at Hogtown Vegan at the end of December and it was forking fantastic. I had the Southern Combo, which is crispy fried chick'un, a molasses BBQ sauce, mac and cheese (SO forking GOOD) and collards. We split the The Fries Supremacy, which we wolfed down because of the amazingness. T. had the Chick'un and waffles and he loved it. Amaazing.

Hi guys. I'm still working on opening a vegan/I-tal cafe/community space in Toronto. We are fundraising through indiegogo: http://igg.me/p/49849?a=306420 (any donation is greatly appreciated!!) as well as various types of fundraisers. There is one upcoming Saturday January 21st 2pm-5pm at Panacea: https://www.facebook.com/events/119907541459497/ We need to reach $2000 to get a 6 month lease. Anything above and beyond that will help us pay for our certificates, supplies etc. We are at 955 so far (through indiegogo and bake sales/custom orders)
