Thanks!
I actually found Field Roast today at the Big Carrot -- they had the sausages, frankfurters, and a few celebration roasts. I got one to try for Thanksgiving.

WOW you guys! So I did end up going to Hogtown Vegan last night - I just can't get over how amazing everything was! I'm glad that I don't live anywhere near that place or else I'd be in trouble. I ended up trying the poutine (the gravy is spectacular, I want to drink it), the tofu wings, the chicken and waffles, and the mac and cheese. It's awesome going to an all vegan place so I can sample off of dining companions' plates. Next time I think the mushroom po'boy needs to be mine.

the field roast sausages are delicious! but i have not seen them in stores, sadly.
PS if anyone saw me at the festival/during Isa's demo, i have half-black and half-blonde hair, was wearing a black jacket and black/white striped romper. paprika pointed out lobsterrific to me but i didn't get to say hi!

Is anyone planning on checking out any of the Veggielicious participating restaurants?

I was eyeing up Sadie's or The Big Carrot, but they all sound good!

I'd love to hit up Sadie's (Diner) - it's more of a sit-down place.

We should do a meet up! I haven't been to Sadie's Diner yet and I heard it's great! Could we do a brunchable on a Saturday or Sunday maybe? Or whatever else anyone else is into.

Is Sadie's the place next to Hot Beans? I live in that area so I might be up for a meetup too.

Oh wait. Just looked it up and that's just the juice bar. The diner is still pretty close though, so my interest stands.

I'll be in Toronto in two weeks (weekend-Oct 5-7). Where should I eat? What should I eat? I probably will be spending the majority of my time at the hotel for the convention (near the airport, I think) and will be completely dependent on public transit (ie, make it easy on me. I'm good at navigating public transit, but I'd prefer relatively easy routes rather than bus train bus bus or something). It's Thanksgiving that weekend, right? So I probably won't see any of you. But such is life.

Saturday brunch sounds good to me!
lillianp, you could take the 192 Airport Rocket to the Kipling subway station, then get off at either Ossington for Hogtown or Spadina for Fresh - both within one block of the subway station. Two of my favourite restaurants, and super accessible from the airport!

Saturday brunch works for me too if was 11 or later, is that too late for brunch?
Lillianp I second taking the 192 bus to the Kipling subway station - it's dead easy!

So are we going this Saturday? I've not been to Sadie's diner. I think it's maybe kinda near my workplace as I have to run an errand there after we meet. 11 is good for me, too.

Just to confirm: 504 Adelaide Street West, right?

^ Yeah, I think that's it. I just googled directions and it said to get off at St. Andrew station (if taking the TTC) and then take the 504 streetcar? (don't quote me on the 504 streetcar, just closed the window with the directions in it) but yeah, my destination was 504 Adelaide street.
Also, if these directions seem wrong to anyone or there's a closer subway stop than St. Andrew to the restaurant, please let me know as I don't often venture into that neck of the woods downtown.

Just checking out Sadie's menu online. I think I'll get the tofu scramble, even though someone gave it a bad review (said there were no seasonings). I'm hungry already! I'm leaving to head downtown in, like half an hour (live in Leaside so not right downtown).

Arrggh I had too much wine last night. Consequently I'm really tired, but alllso really hungry. So warning in advance I might seem slightly out of it and I might eat more than everyone else combined. Maybe that isn't something that actually required a warning?
eta: wait how will we recognize eachother? Is there a table reserved under the name PPK or something similarly obvious?
