hi guys! i'm not sure the best way to go about this, so i'm just starting a new thread.

my... let's call her my second cousin (there are modifiers like "removed" and "step" in there somewhere, but who cares) is moving to austin next week, and aside from DYING of envy, i'm trying to help her out when i can. the problem is, my husband and i left austin in 2000 (sob!) so i think some of my recommendations are pretty stale by now. ;) i'm wondering if i can maybe post here if/when she asks me for things i am no longer knowledgeable about, and if there are austin ppk'ers who have a recommendation, maybe you could PM me (or post in the thread, whichever you prefer)?

right now her requests that i couldn't really help with are...

-- a good physical therapist
-- a good talk therapist
-- a good hair salon (i did give her my guy from forever ago, but a backup is probably a good idea, heh)

thanks ahead of time!

I have a fantastic physical therapist! If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be walking now!
Austin Preferred Spine and Sports Rehab
4316 James Casey Street

I don't know of a good talk therapist but Jessica Morris who is vegan does color and maybe at Maximum FX Salons Spas. I usually have a friend do mine or go to Birds because it's cheap.

I get my hair cut at the Jackson Ruiz salon across the street from the main Whole Foods. It's one of those places where there's no tipping, so excellent for introverts like me. They use Aveda products if that matters to her.

For a talk therapist, I recommend Jane Cobb. She takes some kinds of insurance.

I used to go to Jackson Ruiz and loved it. I think my mom still goes there regularly.
