Looking for food recommendations for Moab, and SE Utah, as well as anywhere from Boise-Utah (via Provo).

Thank you!

Last time I was in Moab was over an Easter weekend, so a lot of things were closed. I remember the Moab Brewery on the south side of town was a fun place to go and they had a handful of good vegan appetizers! I assume you're going to Arches? It's just amazing. Don't knock any of them over like that Boy Scout troop ;)

Kanab has a handful of decent vegan options because Best Friends sanctuary is so close by, but you may want to check with people who have been in the area more recently, as I think the diner I ate at there is closed now.

There are tons of really great options in SLC! My favorites were Sage's Cafe and Vertical Diner. There seem to be a ton more vegan or vegan-friendly bakeries since I was last there, and I can't remember which one I went to! I think it was City Cakes & Cafe.

I was last in Utah in 2010, so my recommendations are probably pretty outdated by now!

Thanks, Erika! This is great.

We just got to Moab and stocked up at the Moonflower Co-op (vegan toffee bars! kale salad! vegan bahn mi!) I'm excited to try the Brewery. We're on a road trip from PDX-Moab and back. We're going to Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse, and exploring little adventures and side trips along the way. We had terrific vegan BBQ in Boise.

We didn't stop in SLC, but had fantastic Indian food in Provo at India Palace--great menu with vegan options clearly marked. Really good coconut cream kofta. and aloo paratha.

We might try some of your suggestions in SLC on the drive back to PDX.

I'll be in Moab in a couple of weeks! Good to know we won't starve.

Fabulous veggie burger made from quinoa and amaranth at Peace Tree. Vegan smoothies too!

More vegan options: Eklectica has quite a few tasty vegan eats. I had the huevos rancheros, with tofu scramble subbed for the eggs, and it was smothered in delicious green chile sauce.

Moonflower coop has red velvet cupcakes and sesame noodles and tofu salad sandwiches.

Eddie McStiffs has falafel and vegan pizza and is one of the only places in town where you can get an actual drink in this non-drinking Mormon land.
