I work less than five minute away from Mountain View College, so I'm going to stick with Oak Cliff. sunnybear wrote: Pizza Lounge - It's open till 2 and fairly close to the granada. Less daiya is more! I had the philly cheese Texas style at Spiral in Fort Worth, and it had a TON of cheese!

Has anyone in the DFW area actually attempted Loving Hut yet? I've been super broke but am dying to try it out.
BTW - if you are on the Fort Worth-Mid cities side: Papaya Garden off 183 and HW 157/Industrial is amazing. They have a full "vegetarian" menu that is actually vegan. They do wheat gluten or tofu in any of their dishes and will nix fish sauce in anything that's not on the vegetarian menu if you switch to "vegetarian style" All the meals we've had come with a house salad, and ask for the veggie dressing. The other dressing is mayo based. The veggie dressing is a rice-vinegar peanut dressing that is divine.

So I sent an email to Blue Mesa Grill which used to be one of my favorite restaurants in my pregan days, and I got a quick response. They attached a pdf with all of their vegetarian and vegan options, and there are a ton! Everything with a * next to it is vegan!
VEGETARIAN SUGGESTIONS Starters • Black Bean Soup* • Queso Blanco, Wild Mushroom Queso, and Spinach-Artichoke Queso • Tableside Guacamole*
Entrees • Avocado-Sun Dried Tomato and Pesto Quesadilla* • Avocado Enchiladas (for vegan option substitute three chile sauce; no lime sour cream; no cotija cheese on the black beans)* • Blue Corn Cheese Enchiladas with Three Chile Sauce (not Tomatillo Sauce) • Goat Cheese Enchiladas • Spinach-Mushroom Enchilada (order without chicken; top with three chile sauce)* • Avocado, Mango & Jicama Salad (order no shrimp)* • Street Tacos with Portabello Mushrooms* • Vegetable Sampler
Sides • Black Bean Adobe Pie • Blue Corn Cheese Relleno a la carte (no BBQ ranchera sauce) • Caramelized Onion-Basil Quesadilla • Chimayo Market Corn • Chips & Salsa* • Corn Cake • Ginger Rice* • Grilled Asparagus* • Grilled Sweet Potatoes* • House Salad* • Jalapeño Relish* • Jicama Slaw* • Mesa Panna Bread* • Onion Rajas* • Seasonal Vegetables (ask about preparation) • Smoky Black Beans (no cotija cheese*) • Wild Mushroom Tamalito
Vegetarian Dressings & Sauces • Ancho Mayonnaise • Avocado Sauce* • Balsamic Vinaigrette* • Basil Pesto* • Chile Nut Dressing* • Chile Pepper Baste* • Chipotle Cream Sauce • Fire Roasted Salsa* • Garlic Basil Oil* • Ginger Chipotle Baste* • Lime Butter Sauce • Pico de Gallo* • Red Table Salsa* • Tequila Orange Vinaigrette* • Three Chile Sauce* • Vegetable Mirepoix Stock* *VEGAN / no animal protein, egg or dairy

I'm a little suspicious. They have some of their recipes online, and I remember the black bean soup having bacon. I'd love if it were really vegan though. I used to love that painted desert soup.

The Loving Hut is delicious. The Raw Brownie tastes like a giant Larabar and is very filling and "healthy" tasting.

It's happening! April 30 12-4. If you haven't connected with the organizer yet, email dallasveganbakesale at gmail dot com.
(Sorry if this is completely redundant - but since I had posted here about it I wanted to follow up in case others hadn't heard back.)

I also love going to the Blue Fish and Freebirds (burritos, I am obsessed).
we just got a Freebird's in Corpus and now I am obsessed. Cheap vegan food that I don't make is a pretty high commodity around here :-)

I put it on everything there, even the chips! haha So today we are going to the new vegan restaurant D'Vegan. I've heard it's really good so we're excited! I will try to post some pics later.

So D'Vegan was.....REALLY GOOD. The only sucky part is that there is a chinese bbq place right next door, so you are greeted with duck and pig carcass before going into the door. Ironic, eh? Anyway, here's some pics. Next time I will definitely try some Pho and their beef flat noodles. We played it safe this time haha.
