Lay 'em on me. Anything that's good. We're here until Sunday for a half marathon and will be centered kind of around the Downtown/Convention Centre/West End areas. We found a burrito place on Robson, nearish to Red Robin... is it good? bad? meh? We will require large burritos at the end of our run.

Nuba!! It's Lebanese food. And it is SO good. I think that one may only be open lunch hours though. It's at Seymour and Davie, about a 10-15 min walk. Loving Hut Foodtruck! Their burgers are SO good. Bao Qi has vegan Banh Mi. It's good not great (super spicy) but really nice and cheap! You'll find some good sushi wandering down Davie. If you're okay with a longer walk (less than half an hour) you could hit up La Taqueria for delicious tacos or Wild Rice for Chinese fusion--I've never been but I think Vijita's a big fan of Wild Rice. Oh, and Panz! Lots to eat!

Yay! I just want a better option than Red Robin (dinner was sad, they cook their fajita veggies in butter so I had a dressing-less salad.) I think I went to Wild Rice last time I was in town to run.

Hon's on Robson has an entirely separate vegetarian kitchen. Decent greasy Chinese.

There is also a place that does vegan milkshakes on Davie and Richards called What's Shaken. They offer Coconut Bliss or almond-milk ice cream and are knowledgeable about what "toppings" are vegan.

Also, are you doing the lulu 1/2 marathon? I'm volunteering with RockDoc so if you pass out at the finish line, I'll be administering your CPR :)

Aw yeah, milkshakes!

Yes, a whole bunch of ladies from my team came up for SeaWheeze. I very sincerely mean to not pass out, though. That would be a very awkward way to meet a PPKer! :)

Burritos suck in Vancouver (downtown); go for tacos at La Taqueria instead! And yes, I love to rave about Wild Rice. Nuba is great, and I was surprised by how cheap the lunch versus dinner prices were the last time I went, with huge portions (so go for lunch!). And by cheap I mean Vancouver-cheap, which is actually expensive, but it is what it is. The food trucks are so pricey unless you like to eat on the street-- I prefer the lovely relaxing atmosphere in a place like Nuba or Wild Rice (for the same amount of money, usually!). Panz over Hon's ANY day (plus, Panz is vegan). There's a place in the West End on Denman that does vegan pizza, but they use Daiya (shudder). I've been able to get vegan bibimbap (I feel like that would make for a nice post-race meal!) at a couple of the Korean restaurants on Robson near Denman. There's also Gyoza King on Robson in the West End but I haven't been there for ages and I'm not sure what is currently vegan. There's also Legendary Noodle...I still haven't been but I think melb said good things!

I am narrowly missing you yet again. I'm coming to Vancouver on Monday. Good luck with the race!

For smoothies and raw food, Gorilla Food on Richards St at W Pender St. Loving Hut Express is my favourite.

I hope you didn't go to Steamrollers. That place is nasty and those are NOT burritos.

Yup, Steamrollers. Plain, completely unseasoned basmati and shredded iceburg lettuce made up 3/4 of that burrito. The menu says "Ask about our vegan options!" but the guy behind the counter didn't even know if the soy cheese was vegan (I didn't get any.) I didn't even finish it.

Sadly the race sort of sucked too. I mean, the race was great; my race sucked. I went out too hard and blew up. Lesson learned: don't trust the pacers and run your own race!

Steamrollers is terrible :( That's too bad about your race. At least you got some pretty good swag (which I also managed to obtain).

Oh yeah, the swag and all the extras of the weekend were great. They had vegan pad thai at the sunset festival so all was not lost on the post-race food front yesterday.
