I'm planning a trip up that way this spring. What and where do you suggest that I see, do, eat, etc?

We're heading to Kamloops over Spring Break so am interested in this area of BC too!
Anyone recommend anywhere to eat while we are there?

Not so close to Kamloops but Nelson has very good options for such a small city: http://www.happycow.net/north_america/c ... ia/nelson/

Kelowna is pretty solid too: http://www.happycow.net/north_america/c ... a/kelowna/

Kamloops seems to have considerably less vegan-friendly dining options but I'm sure that you'll do fine!

Penticton is quite vegan friendly, my favourite spot being Wild Scallion. http://wildscallion.ca/

If you are in Penticton on a Saturday morning you can eat at the farmers market down town. There's a fantastic table called Veggie Village that sells vegan steam buns, banana leaf rice wraps, cookies, scones, salad & spring rolls.

There's also a gal called Gorgeous Georgia's that sells vegan ice cream from a cruiser bike with a stainless steel fridge box on the front. She makes her ice creams out of either, coconut or cashew bases.

You can customized a portobello burger at Burger 55. The fries are cooked in canola oil.

Wild Scallion does have heaps of vegan options. The chef himself is vegan.

Penticton also has a health food store called "Whole Foods" but it's not the one everyone thinks it is. They've had the name since 1982. They have a deli with vegan options.

The soup at The Bench is almost always vegan as is their cornbread and they some times have vegan salads in their deli case. The veggie burger is vegan but you have to ask for it without aoli or cheese and they don't swap those for something else so it's kind of dry and boring for 9 bucks. If they slapped in some artichoke and avocado it would be awesome.

With a bit of a search in the Farmers Market you might find other vegan options, some pop up and are gone the next week, there are increasing numbers of food carts each year.
