Our potluck to celebrate the end of summer is almost here! Use your favorite in-season fruits and veggies.

Claire was kind enough to offer to host again at her place in Wicker Park on Sunday, Sept. 13.

I'm not sure if anyone else wants to come other than you and me, pepperpot?

I can make it this weekend! (Or pretty much any other weekend day in Sept if that works better for others).

I am sad I missed the June potluck and am eager to make a comeback!

Yay! Glad you'll be back Diana, you were missed at the last Indian potluck!

EmJaeDee posted in the other thread. Hollie is ditching us for football!!! And Rhizo wasn't sure if she'd be able to make it. Maybe I'll drop notes to EmJaeDee and Rhizo to be sure. This weekend works fine for me, but I'd be fine with rescheduling too if it would be better for more people.

So we've at least got me, claire, VeggieNextDoor, and EmJaeDee. I think we'll have a good group to go ahead with our potluck on Sunday.

What time should we plan on?

I've been trying to decide what to make. I have a ton of blueberries in my freezer from the last few months, I may do something dessert-y with those. Maybe I'll wait til my farmer's market on Saturday for inspiration.

I have to be at my parent's place in Old Irving Park (Irving and Pulaski-ish) for my sister's birthday that day around 2:00, but I could be a little late. So if we start the potluck by noon or even a little earlier, I can put in an appearance.

My basil is thriving, so I'm thinking caprese salad. I'm working on a batch of Mioko's fresh mozzarella for that.
I might also try to do something with my abundance of sage. I'll probably also get inspiration from the farmer's market on Saturday.

Yay!!! So glad we're on!

I will be making a potato & green-bean salad and maybe something else too if I get my act together :-)

Yay! Noon is ok for me, I can't remember what time/if we agreed on a time in the other thread.

So far it looks like the weather should be nice so we can hang out on the porch again!

I'm thinking something with lots of dark leafy greens, since that's what's most abundant in my garden right now. I was drooling over knishes the other day, because although I've never made them I love making things stuffed in dough envelopes, so maybe I twist on Isa's knishes using a greens combo instead of just spinach.

I will be there. We'll see what is most abundant in my garden. Probably something with tomatoes and eggplant and chard. Noon is great! Looking forward to it!

Ok, finally decided! I'm going to make a zucchini tart like this: http://epicureanvegan.com/2013/01/12/zucchini-tomato-ricotta-tart/
And I'm going to make the blueberry coffee cake from VWAV.

Claire, do you mind if I bring Oliver? I feel like he deserves a fun outing after spending the last two weeks getting beat up by our foster kitten!

In addition to the caprese sallad, I am also bringing:
Delecata gnocchi with white beans in sage "butter".
Everyone's dishes sound delicious; I can't wait!

Everyone, I'm really sorry for the abrupt and awkward ending! That was totally not what I planned...Michael and I really didn't communicate welll about what the hell we were doing, I thought he would go and pick up the thing and come back and then he wasn't so I was like OK I guess I have to go? And then he thought we were both going? I don't even know. We both felt really bad for how that went; Michael wanted me to apologize to you all on his behalf too.

I had a good time though! It was nice seeing you all. And all the food was, of course, fantastic.

Claire (and Michael, too!) please don't feel one bit bad about it. It didn't even strike me as awkward or abrupt, as you'd said you'd have to do a pick up by 2pm. We had a lovely time!

No need to apologize! You had mentioned picking it up by 2pm, and the party was naturally wrapping up anyway, so there was nothing awkward or abrupt. Thank you both so much for hosting! Oliver and I had a wonderful time!

Ha, I just realized I put Wicker Park in the first post, when I'm pretty sure that was Logan Square! For some reason I still always get the two mixed up!

I'm working on getting pics posted, but does anyone have any decent pics of especially the soup and the peach dessert? I only have one of each, and my pics do not do them justice!

Same here - Claire/Michael - it seemed perfectly normal to me to have a hard-stop.

I hope you made it on time to get your veggies - I felt bad that you wound up having to rush!

Thanks again for hosting & best of luck with your big move!!!
