Upton’s Naturals is seeking an amazingly talented, creative, and detail-oriented individual for our new vegan café opening this summer at the corner of Grand and Hoyne in Chicago. We are a national natural foods company (specializing in seitan) and are expanding to a brand new location (currently under construction) that will also have a storefront café space. We are looking for someone who can manage the day-to-day operations as well as handle recipe testing and set-up pre-opening. This is a full time job.
Job Responsibilities include:
•Managing a staff of ~15 employees
•Recipe creation and testing for a small menu of sandwiches, bowls, and baked goods
•Ingredient sourcing and ordering
•Cost analysis/pricing for all menu items
•Minor accounting as needed
•Day-to-day operational duties
Must be open to feedback and easy to work with. Must also be VERY FAMILIAR with vegan cooking and baking. Our facility is 100% vegan, no exceptions.
