Hey everyone!! I miss our monthly potlucks! Until Megan mentioned it on my blog, I didn't realize that I could still come to a potluck in Chicago. Grand Rapids isn't too far and Hector and I would able to do a day trip, as long as the potluck was early in the day, like a Sunday? Also, we probably would have to bring little Phoebe.

What does everyone think? October probably won't be a good month, but November or December would be great!

Yay! Miss you guys!
All Sundays in November are good for me, except the very first one. I'm willing to host, if we're a smallish group.

Yay potlucks!! So glad you and Hector can still come, Jeni!

The only Sunday in November that I can't do is the 10th.

How about Sunday afternoon, Nov. 17? Would that work for everyone?

Shall we plan on Nov 17th at EmJaeDee's place?

What theme should we do, just a general fall theme?

Nov 17th at my place would be splendid. How's "Harvest" as the theme?
And do we want to schedule the annual PPK Chicago Christmas Dessert-Fest?

Harvest theme sounds great for the 17th!
The annual dessert-fest sounds great & we should plan a date for that! I had so much fun at the last one. :-)

Harvest theme will be perfect! What time? Would late morning or afternoon work?

Yes, we definitely need to do our Dessert Fest! Maybe mid-December?

Mid afternoon would work well for me, say, 2 or 3?

Nov 17th works for me! I'm very much looking forward to catching up with everyone - and to all the yummy food! Fall flavors are my favorite, great theme!

If we'd like to open it up to a larger group I'm also always happy to host. I just learned of a new vegan group on Facebook called Power To The Veg and I imagine there's a few Chicagoan's in that group that might be interested in meeting up.

Early on the 17th would work best for me. Would 12 work for everyone?

1pm would work for us, if we want to meet in the city. More people is always fun if VeggieNextDoor wants to host, but I've got a commitment until 12pm in Skokie that day, so I probably couldn't get to Oak Park until 1ish.

1pm would be fine for me. I'll let you two decide who's going to host. :)

Those times work for me!

How about we let EmJaeDee host this time for a reunion potluck. We can advertise more widely in the future if Jeni & Hector aren't able to make it sometime... you know, to fill the gaping void :-( We miss you both and are so glad you're able to come next month!

And of course, any PPKers reading this thread: You are so very welcome! Come on down! My table seats six, and we can improvise! We are not scary! Message me for directions.

Yay!! I am super excited to see everyone! I already have some ideas of what to bring, but not 100% sure yet. I probably will bring something savory & something sweet!

Yay! My calendar is marked and I am SO excited! Thanks to EmJaeDee for hosting - I also love what you wrote on the wall.

Not only are we not scary, the food is always pretty darn amazing too. Be there or be square!

I am getting excited to see everyone! Now, I just need to decide what to bring. I am trying to think of things that will transport well, but having a little difficulty deciding.

I probably will some sort of bread or cookie, thinking that those will transport well. Also, something that can be served at room temperature. I will post what I am officially bringing as soon as I figure it out!

One week! I haven't decided what to make yet either. I've had visions of pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and apples dancing in my head, but I haven't made up my mind what to do with any of them.

Jeni, are you bringing Phoebe? I'm still also debating whether to make Oliver come with me or leave him home alone.

I'll probably make Pumpkin Penne, and maybe a pie of some sort. Pups are welcome!

I wonder if Oliver will be nice and play with her, or if he'll act like a jerk again. I may bring him just to torture him!
