The schedule for Veg Fest was posted today!
http://vegfoodfest.com/

I'm the bookstore captain on Sunday, but I'm also going to be there Saturday to catch talks and demos. Who else is going?

I don't know if I'm going to be able to get myself there. But I'll sure try.

It looks like I'll likely go on September 6 as Terry and Bryant Terry (the two Terrys!) are doing their cooking demos. But I'm happy to see any of the presenters. If anyone wants to join me, I'll love the company! I still dream of the deep fried Mexican tortilla (there's a name for it, which I forget at the moment) with guacamole dip from Hot Beans I had last year.

I'm planning to attend! Haven't looked at the schedule yet to decide which other days I'll be there, but Saturday is probably a given.

YAY! I will, of course, be there. Saturday the 6th! Sounds like it will be the whole usual PPK gang. I'll definitely be going to the two Terrys and I'd like to see Ginny's talk, too. Oh, and eat ALL THE THINGS from Bloomer's/chimrichalds <3

I was supposed to participate in the doughnut showdown on the Sunday, but I'm getting some bad carpal tunnel and had to cancel.. I can still remember the first time I went when vegetarian haven was participating and I had a vegan prawn. I still crave it.. Looking forward to Bryant Terry, but with 4 kids, it's hard to get around the indoor booths around that time.

FYI, no subway service that weekend between Lawrence and Bloor. There will be shuttle buses.

Well, it will affect me but the shuttle buses actually aren't so bad on that surface route. It's been the case a lot this spring with upgrades to the subway, I guess.

So...getting there...for some reason I'm drawing a blank...I go to Union Station and take the streetcar, right? I think i get off at Simcoe street (Harborfront route). I feel like I'll know how to get there when I'm en route but sitting here thinking about how I get there...I can't really remember. It's like remembering a number from how you enter it on the keypad, but not from remembering the digits in your head, you know--that's how this particular trip route is for me...

The transit from Union to Harbourfront is a giant mess because of construction on Queen's Quay. If the weather is nice, it's about a 10 minute walk from Union so that's what I do. You can cut through some side streets or you can just walk straight down Yonge until you get to Queen's Quay, turn right, and keep walking until you hit Harbourfront.

Thanks! It's been a mess for months around there...years! The construction will never end!

Ack. I caught some sort of horrible disease (a bad cold) so I'm going to be stuck at home this weekend. Eat a cupcake for me!

I might be able to make it out on Sunday. Not sure yet, there are logistics to work out. I hope I can, I want to eat all the things.

On Saturday I'm going to wear my PPK shirt. On Sunday I'll be wearing a volunteer shirt. Either way, for those who don't know what I look like, I'm super tall with brown curly hair and most likely wearing black glasses.

I'll be wearing a black Descendents shirt and green pants! And I'm chubby and have red hair.

I lied, I'm wearing a grey only kale can save us now shirt. And I'll be at Terry's demo today!

I'm leaving soon and plan to hit Terry's demo at 2. I'm wearing black/dark blue cargo type shorts (I think they're cargos?) and a black and olive-colored top that's decorated with leaves or some sort of greenery. I'm not feeling so hot so probably will just catch Terry's demo, have a quick look around and head out--(nothing contagious just monthlies but blergh. I was thinking of going tomorrow instead but today's just better for me.)

Anyway, I'll look out for any new and familiar faces. If we don't run into each other, have fun everyone and <3! Hope to see yous!

I'm also committing the fashion sin of pairing of black socks with my white running shoes but I'm running late and it's too late for me to find a pair of clean white socks to change into!

Just got home and had a great time, even though I missed Terry's demo because IT TOOK ME TWO HOURS TO GET DOWNTOWN TODAY (usually takes me around forty minutes in okay traffic). Argh! Shuttle bus hell plus hideous traffic = huge delay. So I did manage to get in at the end of Terry's demo and say hello to her and ran into Papriks and Trevor, and I love when that happens so that was all good. I saw lobster from afar but didn't want to scream across the room at her but hope to see her soon, too. I got a copy of Salad Samurai which was the one cookbook I HAD to leave the festival with if it killed me, so happy about that. Got catnip blankets and treats for my cats which they are delighted about and some samosas and goodies from Bloomer's to take home. Worth braving the shuttle buses and terrible traffic in the end though when I first realized I was missing Terry's demo I was sorely disappointed but happily, I got over that and managed to enjoy myself at the festival even though I missed the one event that I especially looked forward to.

I ate an Icelandic donut for you instead from chimrichald's bakery and ate that in your stead. I didn't think you'd mind! Hope you're feeling better and we should all get together soon and catch up. <3 <3 <3
