Has anyone been to Lipstick & Dynamite by Queen & Ossington? They don't have a menu online and I'm going for the first time on Sunday to check out their brunch. They have vegan caesars! I haven't had a caesar in so long!!!

I didn't end up going, I was barely able to walk after my marathon! So I went home and had Mamma's Pizza instead - their spicy vegan is so good!

Isn't Mamma's Pizza a chain? Do they have one near Y&E? (Do they deliver???)

They do deliver! There's a location at Bayview & Eglinton!

It isn't cheap, but it's SO GOOD, so I get it as an occasional treat! They have 2 or 3 vegan pizzas. The spicy vegan is delicious if you like olives.

OMG, you just CHANGED MY WORLD. What the hell, I'm at B&E every WEdnesday evening, too, and now I know exactly where you're talking about and I never thought of looking at their menu--I assume most places are just non-vegan or just slap a frozen veggie burger option on the menu for the odd vegetarian who comes in. I looooove olives! I'm pretty sure I'm close enough for delivery. I can get take out after yoga on Wednesdays!!! I don't mind pricey for an occasional indulgence!

IT'S SO GOOD - if you love olives you'll love it! (assuming you like daiya as well)

I just made a deep dish pizza this weekend with Daiya mozz! And I have a frozen Daiya pizza (mushroom and roasted garlic) in my freezer for emergencies!

I do like Daiya!

Oh, also, do you go to a yoga studio by B&E?

It's actually in the auditorium of the Leaside High School. We work out right by the stage but the teacher shuts the lights out and just has, like, electronic candles on. It's kind of decrepit, actually, but I don't mind. It's an old school. I've been practicing there for years--it's kundalini style so more meditative-y and chanty and less ashtanga/power yoga physical, but I love it. I regsister through the Toronto District School Board Continuing Education (or something like that--pamphlets available in public libraries and places like that) and the cycles of classes are around ten weeks and I go from September till May. (They don't operate in the summer, between May-September because the school's closed).

ah, cool! there's a studio right by me (Fireflow on Eglinton & Redpath) but it's ashtanga, which I've never done before. I think I might check it out though, because it's a 3 min. walk from my apartment and how awesome would that be.

I know exactly where that is. There's also Yoga Tree in an office building just a little up the street from Fireflow. I keep meaning to go to one of their drop in classes "one of these days" but haven't yet. I have gone so far as to google their schedule online and make vague plans. I think they're $20 a pop for drop in, something like that (at Yoga Tree).

I was looking at that place too and trying to decide between the two. I think I might try a class at each and see how I feel about it.

Seconded!! That is awesome. I was out cheering basically at the 1 mile to go mark (It was a good friend of mines first marathon!). I had my eyes open for you too but I didn't see you. Oh well. Very cool :)

This thread is making me want pizza. I don't need pizza right now! I've never been to Mamma's Pizza but I'm super close proximity to the Magic Oven (moved recently to ~Church and Wellesley) and aaahhhh, it is a challenge for my temperance.

Thanks to you both! Tea that would be such a fun spot to cheer people on! I admire the spectators who go out there and cheer...it really means so much to the runners!

I haven't been to a Magic Oven before but they are building one pretty close to me - exciting!

I went to the Magic Oven near Dupont station a couple of months ago and had a delicious vegan pizza. I think it was called the Black Magic on the menu. Whatever it was, it was super tasty.

They're supposed to be opening a location near Y&E this fall is what I hear!

Two things->
Thing 1: I need to second that Mama's vegan pizza is amazing!
Thing 2: Lipstick and Dynamite is amazing too! Everything on their menu can be vegan, it's owned by two adorably friendly people, the decor is kitschy fabulousness and the vibe is laid back and the portions are no joke either. I've been a few times now and have never been disappointed. When you go there, go hungry! :)
