So Kensington has TWO new ital places! I tried out the one that is on top of Genesis (I think on St. Andrew). I had the combo with these bbq soy nugget thingies, rice, and greens. The prices weren't listed anywhere (nor was a menu, so they had to go over every single dish with me) but a lunch combo + mango drink came to $20 which I thought was kind of steep but I'm not sure how much the drink was vs. the actual food. The food was delicious but I don't know how often I'd go back at that price point (especially for take out). There are a couple of tables smushed into the front, but it's mostly a take out place.

The other new ital place is in the old Hot Beans location...I haven't been yet and I haven't heard of anyone who has. I'm curious how the two compare!

That's too bad about the price! That's actually why I don't go to One Love very often because I find it so expensive. I was hoping to find cheaper Ital food than that.

I feel the same way about One Love! It's near my hair stylist so sometimes I stop in for a roti or something after my hair appointment, but not very often.

Next time I'm in Kensington I'll check out the other ital place and report back.

I tried out the other place, Veggie D'Light. I had a jerk seitan wrap, but the person working there offered me samples of their 3 protein options (the jerk seitan, the curried chickpeas, and then I actually forget what the 3rd one was). The wrap is in naan bread with some veggies. The combo plate comes with rice or pasta, a protein, and then some veggies like sprouts and steamed broccoli.

It was good, but personally I liked Vital Life better. Veggie D'Light seemed more like something I would make at home and the veggie sides weren't really doing it for me. I feel kind of bad saying that because the staff were super nice.

I still miss Hot Beans like crazy, though.
