I'm almost always free on weekends so whenever's good for you guys, I should be able to come.
I never go out so aside from Fresh I don't have any other suggestions. We went to Sadie's last time, so maybe try somewhere else this time (just for variety sake).

I'm usually free on weekends, too, though this coming one I'll be out of town. (Dunno if folks were thinking that soon or not)

The next available weekend I have is March 2-3. If you guys don't plan anything until then, I'm game!

Greetings! I live in Markham and am planning to go downtown TO on Friday, February 15 (I have the day off of work). I am looking to try a new vegan restaurant for lunch. I'll be in the Bloor/Danforth and the area south of Yorkville down to Union Station. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ; )

There's a Fresh on Bloor, super close to a TTC station if that's how you are getting around. I really, really like Hogtown Vegan, it's a little further down on Bloor (but again, very TTC-accessible). Kupfert & Kim recently opened up downtown around Bay/King (they are connected to the PATH). I haven't been but it sounds delicious. http://www.blogto.com/restaurants/kupfert-kim-toronto

Hey there, GTA PPKers!
I'm going to be in Toronto for a wedding/family visit from May 11th through May 20th and would love to meet any and all PPKers who might want to meet for coffee or a bite. The weekend of the 18th/19th is pretty much filled up with wedding activities, but my schedule on the days before that should be pretty flexible. I know that weekdays might be difficult for folks, but I just thought I'd throw it out there! Looking forward to being back in the land of plenteous vegan food! (And Whole Foods! And Noah's! Woot!)

BTW, is it true that Panacea is closed? I was so excited to find it last time I was in TO and was looking forward to dropping by again.

I'm sure we can arrange an outing when leepalar comes. Yippee!!!
For now, I'm guessing some time on the weekend March 2-3 is shaping up to be a good time for the local folk to meet.

I chose to go to Whole Foods for lunch (stir-fry with tofu). Yum! On my way south to Union Station I stopped at Kupfert and Kim and got a mocha with almond milk. It was SO good! Next time I'll probably go there for lunch. A great suggestion. The dessert selection was very limited, and did not look all that appetizing. Thanks, and have a great weekend!

Woohoo! I'm so excited to visit the city again. It's been since the end of December...that's too long!

Cool! I'll check in again closer to May and see who's up for it/what date might work. paprikapapaya wrote: Yes, Panacea closed :( Biggest bummer. I loved that store.
That's too bad. :( (BTW, paprikapapaya, ever time I see your avatar I want to pet your ginger kitty! He/she looks sooooo soft and sweet!)

Has anyone else tried the vegan brunch menu at The Windsor Arms? I had dinner there during Winterlicious and it was quite nice, but the brunch was terrible!!
I ordered the Vegan Benedict and it was so dissapointing. The medium/soft tofu was a nice stand-in for a poached egg, but the greens were over-cooked and the so-called hollandaise sauce tasted like whole-grain mustard blended with tofu. Seriously, Ithink that's all it was.
My husband had the pancakes - they were gluten-free and had that gummy texture. The kitchen forgot to send out the tempeh bacon that came with the pancakes and the fruit salad was, litterally, four and a half berries.
At $21 a head. A complaint email will be written.

Yay! The more the merrier! I met you once at Hotbeans, bio, but that place isn't the ideal set up for a meetup because it's like a bar with rows of stools instead of tables and we need a table so we can all sit together and chat!
