Can we have a gingerbread house party, to make gingerbread houses? Or is there somewhere in the area doing such an event with vegan ingredients?

Oooooh, I hope someone is making this happen. Not for my sake, but for the good of the world.

That would be really fun! I haven't made a gingerbread house in ages.

This is a fun idea! I haven't heard about anything happening, but I haven't looked. I know Violet Sweet Shoppe is selling gingerbread houses (I think like kits?) at the candy shop on Friday.

If we did our own PPK meetup one, where would we do it?

Cool, I will have to get a kit! If we were going to have a PPK one we might be able to have it in the community room at the complex where I live. I would have to check what the rules are for the room.

It looks like I can use the community room, just waiting for final confirmation of the time. Anyone up for this? I am looking at 12/20/14 from 11-12:30.

Crystal's - Violet Sweet Shoppe - gingerbread kits look really cute! I saw one in the bakery on Sunday.

We're having a cookie decorating party on the 20th. I joked to my boyfriend that we should get a gingerbread kit and then get irritated when it's not as pretty as Crystal's. She's crazy-talented.

Anyone up for this? I am getting 2 gingerbread houses from Violet Sweet Shoppe. Tried to find Nabisco grahams for extra houses, but I guess they don't have them here?

Nope. I've heard they're east coast only?

I don't think we'll be able to make it. Boo.

The last time I was at Sidecar there was a box of the Nabisco Graham's behind the counter and I got so excited, but I think they were just someone's personal score.

Must've been - we've never had them. We only have the Sweet & Sara grahams, which are expensive and made with palm oil.

I'm planning on trying my hand at making my own, with homemade butter. /off-topic

I hope your party is a success, kimba! We're having a cookie party on Saturday (decorating sugar cookies, and other people are bringing cookies to swap), and it's, like, the most successful party we've ever thrown. We have about half as many chairs/seats as we will people!

I just saw ginger bread kits at michaels and it seemed like the gingerbread and frosting was vegan. didn't read all the topping ingredients, but it was only $8.

Cool!

If nobody can make it I'll have fun making them with my son and hubby. If someone wants to join us, just let me know!
