I am hoping to see a story about bananas being thrown around Parliament House on the news this evening!

Tomorrow I'm going to take myself into China Town, try lunch at Tea Master, buy foodz, see if they have soy milk makers and get myself some yummy tea. I'm also going to buy Melisser's book and Caribbean Vegan over the net.
It's going to be an awesome day off. I might even see a movie by myself.

Hmmm actually I think it was Kuan-Yin Tea House that I want to try out, I think they're more vegan-orientated.

Holy shiitake! Kuan-Yin Tea House is amazing! Go! Plus I got a decent sized meal with taro milk tea for $13.
I can't believe I don't think I've been to China Town since I've been vegan (over a year), it was so great.

ah, I leave from Melbourne on the 10th if you're there before that

as for Sydney, it really depends if NZ happens or not. flights are getting scarce..but I'll keep an eye out. and I need work to pay me so I can pay off the credit card before I can actually book

BUT, assuming I go to NZ, then I'll probably spent a day or two when I get back (around the 6th of January), and (if I can swing it) a couple of days before in the week-ish leading up to Christmas. roughly. verrry roughly.

It's brilliant isn't it! What did you have? I used to always have the bento meals but I've branched out a bit to try some new things and found new faves.

Let me know if you're going for lunch during the week - I work in the valley so we could do lunch! :)

So Parliament House gave me nothing to eat. NOTHING. Despite all assurances that I could be catered for, apparently at the last minute they went 'VEGAN? Too hard basket!' and just got biscuits for everyone. And only full cream and skim milk for the tea and coffee. Not that I have milk with my tea or coffee, but that's beside the point. How is it more important to cater for someone watching their weight to the extent that they can't have a teaspoon of full cream milk in their coffee than someone with an ethical or even medical reason for not drinking milk? BAH.

BUT I did get to go to question time and it was way too much fun. I don't know whether this is a good thing to admit, or maybe just the sign that I've become a proper Canberran, and hence everything that I've ever hated.

Hahaha. Hell, I've never lived in Canberra, but I often watch question time on TV. It's hugely entertaining! Hate on, I can take it. ;-) Sorry they didn't feed you.

I will be in Orange for the next month. If anyone is passing through, let me know. We can go to Orange's one and only vegan restaurant. Did you know Orange has a vegan restaurant?

I love Orange for a town name. When I was last in Aus we stopped in Berry and Bright, which I thought were awfully sweet names too.
