Where can I buy rye bread in San Diego (preferably North County)? Not the fluffy kind found in lots of stores, but authentic, dense New York-style rye bread? O'Brien's Boulangerie in Del Mar sells really good rye bread, but now that we've gone vegan we need to know what ingredients O'Brien's uses. Their retail staff has no idea what the ingredients are. Only the bakers know, but they're long gone by the time the bakery opens in the morning. Sent an email through their website over a month ago and still no response.

There's a bakery in San Marcos that makes so good bread. I'm not sure how NY authentic it might be though. I think they have a marbled Rye.

I think this is it.

have you checked out places like Jimbo's and Frasier farms to see what breads they sell? I haven't looked for rye when I visit but Frasier Farms generally has a large bakery of local breads.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll check out Oasis and Frazier Farms.

Jimbo's, Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Vons don't have what we're looking for.

Anybody have other ideas?

Bob
