Hi nice people,

I'm visiting LA for Thanksgiving with my boyfriend-guy who has family there. On Friday and Saturday (27th, 28th) he will be away all day so I'm hoping for suggestions of things to do. I'm really prone to making trips all about food and I've got an entirely too ambitious list of places I want to eat already. I just skimmed through my list and literally the only thing on there that I can't eat or drink is Mooshoes, which is extra goofy because I live a walk away from the NYC location. We're staying in Echo Park and I'll have a car while he's away. Anyone wanna hang out and make friends with little old me and show me around for a bit or just eat some food together or perhaps go with me for a ride to the coast? Or maybe you have some local rec's for things that like stand up comedy, burlesque, the best ever coffee/cocktail places, Storytelling shows, light hikes/nature walks?

LA has a lot of famous comedy clubs around the sunset strip. If you like improv or skit comedy, I've been to the Groundlings (which launched the careers of Lisa Kudrow, Melissa McCarthy and Will Ferrell, among others, and they're good. For storytelling shows, there's The Moth. Light hikes / nature walks isn't an area I know a lot about, but there's a group on meetup.com called Greater LA Veggie Hikers and they might be worth looking up or contacting.

We saw lot of comedy at the Meltdown theater, it was awesome! You have to go to the vromage cheese shop, it's incredible. So is Crossroads & the Mohawk Bar. Echo park has a great breakfast spot, Sage and Chicago style pizza at Masa. You can go hiking by the Griffith Obervatory with views of the Hollywood sign. And we loved doughnut friend. And everyone really loves Japanese at Shojin. And fried chicken at Doomies!
