HEY NETHERLANDS PPK!!
I'm on your continent right this very second. This sunday June 15th Joshua and I are going to be in your city(/ies) and, in his words it is “supposed to be good weather sunday, short notice, let’s get hummus and fork off to a park”
I want to meet you guys!! Let's hang out!

(We don't have to fork off to a park, we can fork off to anywhere with vegan food!)

<33333 Boober

Oh man! There's no way I'm going to be able to make it up there this weekend! (i'm working all weekend in Brussels.) It's a pity your visit didn't coincide with the Amsterdam meetup we've got planned in a few weeks. It would be so fun to meet!

I am like 90-100% sure that he is himself the internet, so yes :))
I hope your concussion feels good enough to come by! I promise no sudden stops or games of dodgeball will take place, very low impact hangs.

Shoot, we've made plans to go on a biking adventure with Mr. Cornelie's dads for father's day on Sunday. If the plans change somehow, I'm definitely up for this.

If you hit up only one vegan place in Amsterdam, go to the Dophert lunchroom. They're super nice and their seitan and brownie cake with peanut butter frosting(!) are to die for. They are right next to the Westerpark, so you can sit in the grass and enjoy the trees when your bellies are stuffed with noms.

There's lots of stuff. Amsterdam really got a lot more vegan friendly in the last year. Some highlights:

Koffie ende Koeck: another vegan lunchroom/coffee&cake place near the Westerpark. Haven't been here yet, but I heard nice things about them
Vegabond: small but well stocked veg*n grocery store near the Dam Square. Vegan products are indicated with a green price tag.
Vega-Life: vegan shop with shoes, clothes, bags, belts, cookbooks, cosmetics, candy and pet food
Biomarkt on the Weteringschans: big health food store with awesome vegan cheese section. No Muh and Sheese among other things

Near Central Station there is Terra Zen, a small Caribbean/Japanese vegan restaurant. I personally don't like it that much, flaky service and the food is expensive compared to the quality, but your mileage may vary.

As for the not specifically vegan stuff, it's always nice to walk/cycle along the canals and hang out in the parks. The Vondelpark is the most famous, but also the most busy. In my opinion the Westerpark and Oosterpark are just as nice and less crowded with hipsters.

Have fun!

ah yeah. I lived in Amsterdam so the non-vegan stuff is p.easy to cover off. we're in Berlin atm though, so most of the grocery/clothing things are overwhelming here :P I'll check Koffie ende Koeck though, seems neat!

I'm surprised Terra Zen is still in business though. ridiculous.

We can't compete with Berlin!

Personally I avoid going to Terra Zen, but other people still seem to like it enough to go back, so I don't know what's up with that. I hope we get a good vegan dinner place soon, but untill then there are plenty of omni restaurants that serve a decent vegan meal. And Dophert has a nice take away service after 5 pm.
