Post subject:  City break suggestions

Hi, been reading through all the posts on this forum trying to decide on best European city to visit for about 4-5 day trip. As with a lot of people a big part of a trip is the food, as well as seeing amazing sights, architecture, museums and the ocean ( if possible, but not a deal breaker). We recently returned from Barcelona trip and fell in love with the place, people and especially the food and was hoping you well travelled people on here could suggestion some other alternative cities to visit? Currently top of our list is Berlin as have read great things about the place but was looking for other suggestions to increase our list?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Si

Well, when I saw the thread title I was coming here to say Barcelona and Berlin... So I'll add Florence and Reykjavik to the list.

I was also going to suggest Barcelona or Berlin and I'll add Vienna, I'm going there on a city break myself in a month or so and it'll be my 4th trip there I think, and Zagreb.

Amsterdam has lots of beautiful water, museums and architecture, but no ocean. And the vegan noms have improved a lot over the last year.

it's not on the usual radar, but I'm gonna say Sofia, Bulgaria. really (really!) vegan friendly, stupidly friendly people, really pleasant atmosphere. and cheap!

I'll parrot Berlin though..but I live there, so I'm probably biased :) it's a safe play. hard to go wrong.

Edinburgh! But then I would say that as I love it here.

Over the last few years I've had excellent breaks in Prague and Amsterdam. I've never been to Berlin but heard great things about there.
