Okay, so I understand that there are rules to reality tv and all, but I'd much rather see the full performance of someone who is "one of the best dancers we've seen today" over some guy's flirting techniques with 15-year-olds.

i love a lot of people already, but now i'm starting to panic because of this new once-per-week format. i worry that it will mean less screen time in vegas (hollywood week/vegas week is my favorite thing in the WORLD when it comes to AI/SYTYCD), and i worry that the regular competition shows will be stressful and sucky because of trying to cram so much in. please don't ruin my favorite show, FOX. OH!! did you guys know about this? during the glee project the other night i saw a commercial for a new show that's all about a dance company that travis wall and nick lazzarini have started together. squee!! http://www.generationo.tv/programming/n ... ight-moves

I couldn't agree more. The backstories can be interesting, but that guy was just awful. Biggest surprise of the episode for me was that praying mantis guy. I thought he was going to be terrible, but he ended up being good in a very weird way, like Sonya choreographed it or something. I still think there will be a ton of people sent home the first day in Vegas that the judges were going on about at the auditions.

I'm not too happy with the new once a week format. Six people gone already?! Four in one episode! How do we get a chance to really see what they can do if they are cutting people so quickly?

How do we get a chance to really see what they can do if they are cutting people so quickly? Yeah this is so quick this time around. It's like "yea you made it to the top 20, but we are sending you home after two days" It would be better to make it to the final cut and not make the top 20 (so you can come back the next year) than make the top 20 and be out the first week. It makes sense that they are getting more input from the choreographers this time since they are crunched for time. bluedawg wrote: aaaand, not heartbroken anymore, because i just watched travis wall's new show (all the right moves) and i LOVE it. there are a bunch of sytycd faves just in the first episode, INCLUDING ADRIAN LEE, woo! and also melanie moore! whee!!

Here is the thing that I hate. So, the dancers spend a week working hard, learning their new dance, they perform it and then are informed that they're going home. That's got to suck. On the other hand, not having an hour results show to fill means that there is no melodramatic eliminations. The first week, especially, it was like ripping off a bandage. "You're all great, but you weren't quite as well liked. See ya!" Boom, done.

I missed the first half hour - what's with all the old Mia Michaels routines? And who are the guys on the judging panel that appear to have never seen the show before?

1. I'm going to have to hit up youtube tomorrow to catch the door dance - that was one of my favorites from Twitch's season! Hate that I missed it.
2. NO! Not Amelia! I love her quirkiness!
3. But glad to see bellydancer go. Not really a fan of that one. She's obviously a great dancer, but of all the girls on the show, she seemed the least grateful to be there - know what I mean? She seemed to have a bit of an entitlement/cockiness thing going on.
