I need to be held.

Until what happened last night I saw him growing up to be very well adapted to that world. A bit like Daryl, woodsy and smart.

Yeah, Carl shiitakes me, but good on him for keeping his head and shooting her. I just wish everyone would stop putting their heads so close to dead/possibly dead (like Herschel) people's mouths. Come on, idiots. Remember why we're all here.

When they went out to the yard for a stroll, I said, "Uh oh." After having seen Mysterious Stranger (who turned out to be Andrew) luring zombies into the area, I knew what was coming. When they spotted the walkers, I said, "Okay, Hershel's boned." I mean, the guy doesn't have his strength back, he's struggling to keep his footing with the crutches, and most of the zombie killing squad is a hundred yards away. Carl's not going to be able to hold them all off, and Hershel's not about to sprint to safety. I was pretty sure Hershel and maybe Beth (trying to save her father) would go down. Then BLAM! they blindsided me.

We didn't actually see Carl shoot Lori. We heard the gunfire only, so maybe she will come back.

I agree Carl is quite the badass...but shooting your mother is hard, even in the zombie apocalypse and wearing your father's sheriff hat. Hershel is badass, too.

If that convict can escape being locked in a prison yard with zombies, Lori can be saved from a c-section.

I was really surprised they killed T-Dog. I thought that they would actually make him a full fledged character this season, what with Merle's return and all.

i've learned that if you don't actually see them die, they're not dead. i'm willing to bet she'll be back. hopefully to eat carl.

Oh, one thing I hadn't realized until I rewatched last week's episode, is that one of the heads in the aquarium was the helicopter pilots! I can't believe I missed that.

I was super sad about it (and also kind of pissed that his death is now overshadowed by Lori's), but at least he went out being awesome.

Has anyone else seen the movie Beerfest? If not, don't, because it sucks. But in it, one of the characters dies and then they meet his twin brother and the brother joins their group of friends and they're all 'we can't be bothered learning your name, so we're just going to call you by your brother's name' and it's like the first guy never died. And I think that's what's going on with T-Dog and prisoner guy whose name I don't know.

I don't really want that to be true, but it does make sense - they have yet to be shy about showing a death scene thus far, why wouldn't they show it if Carl shot her? It's not like they're being sensitive about death.

I just figured it was more dramatic to see the baby and hear the gun shot. We didn't need to see him shoot her.

So, maggie is going to have to nurse that baby until she starts lactating.

What is with Glen and Maggie going at it in the watch tower! Jeez I really hope they have condoms. If I were living in a zombie infested world sex would be off the table. The possibility of bringing a baby into that is out of the question!

I kind of get the feeling Maggie and Glen are going to end up raising that kid. Then there will be a zombie apocalypse custody battle!

I wasn't very torn up about Lori dying, but I did feel a twinge of sadness for Rick.

I can't help but feel like a baby is a death sentence for everyone in the group, and this is the perfect time to bust out Peter Singer's abortion and infanticide are morally equivalent. Perhaps the only appropriate time for it.

Same here. I have the feeling they only killed him off to lull you into a sense of safety that nobody else in the main group was going to die. Not fair! I liked T-Dog.

My husband pointed out that wouldn't have made more sense to shoot Lori in the head first and cut the baby out afterward? It only took a few seconds to get the baby out and if I were her I don't think I'd have wanted the last thing in my life to be an excruciating anestheticless C-section.

Also I can't believe Maggie let Carl shoot his mom. I don't even like Carl and I wouldn't have let him do that.

Too bad-- their prison tower boning sessions will be cut short by an infant. Parenthood is the same even after the zombie apocalypse!

No one is going to do crepe for that baby unless they get some formula or another lactating woman soon!

Unless the baby has zombie-tendencies and can eat flesh.

I was kind of surprised they didn't at least try to save Lori. I'm sure it was a lost cause, but so was Hershel, and he made it through just fine. But was she even dead when Carl shot her??
