** i saw it but instantly forgot about it because my brain was focused on those who were escaping. if you blinked or turned away for a half a second, you probably missed it. i wonder how this thing/alien ties in with the bug in the jar or if they're the same thing? pretty sure this has nothing to do w/ dr. arden though. ** captured at 33:33

I can't stop thinking of the end of this episode and feeling ill. I'm officially done with the show.

Do we think that Anne Frank is telling the truth? She doesn't really look like her, but maybe she got plastic surgery. The Doc is really freaking me out. Kit is my fave character.
I really didn't like Shelly, but this has gone too far with what has happened to her

The problem is, there's no one to sympathize with. Last season, we could sympathize with any one of the Harmons. But there's no "normal" people in this situation. Perhaps Lana Winters comes close, but when she turned on Kit, she lost the respect of the audience. And her situation is also a bit too extreme to relate to. It might have been better if she had stayed outside of the institution for awhile, and we got to witness her life, and the strangeness that ensued from writing the story.
I feel like we're supposed to identify with Sister Jude, as she figures out what's going on with the doctor. But she's been too cruel herself for us to really care.
So Kit is likable, but again, not easy to relate to because he isn't seeing things clearly and....he has an alien implant. They went and made his situation too extreme, as well. He has no grounding, and so we're left watching all this mishegos without any grounding, either. (that means craziness in Yiddish.)
I like the Anne Frank storyline. I don't object to aliens. But they needed to give us someone to root for that made us feel like we were rooting for ourselves, and they failed. So I'd consider this season a nice try, but if I weren't so in love with last season, I'd probably stop watching. I hope that there are future seasons, though.

i don't know; i'm not having trouble rooting for any of the inmates. i don't relate to them, necessarily, but i know they're getting the short end of the stick. maybe it's more that i'm rooting against the people i don't like with so much enthusiasm.
the last episode was harder to watch than any other for me. the aversion therapy might not have worked for lana, but i'm pretty sure i'm going to throw up now any time i hear the word "tumescence." *splarf*
i hope zachary quinto turns out to be bloody face. i'd like to see him slice into one more head, for old times' sake.

You're right, I feel like we can root for "the inmates" as a whole, but for me it still feels hallow. Who doesn't root for the inmates kind of no matter what?

Am I the only one who was hoping that Quinto's character would not turn out to be a bad guy? Also, that mask is terrifying.

So are we supposed to believe what Grace saw was true? 'Cause of all the story lines going on, aliens are by far the most meh to me.

i think so, because three characters have now seen aliens independent of one another.
i really didn't see the zachary quinto twist coming until she walked into his (super awesome) house. well done, show. (or continually gullible, me.)

me neither! although i will admit i'm usually super gullible. when i figure things out, they usually have to be SUPER OBVIOUS.

i suspected it just this episode when he came in to tell lana to meet him under the steps. (and then when he was recording kit confessing, i suspected it even more.)
part of it was that bloodyface attacked lana's girlfriend. it seemed strategic. (did lana ask him to check in on her after she had been attacked or before? does anyone remember?)
they did a really good job of not making him seem suspicious until this episode.

It was afterwards...I only remember because I cracked up when he saw that teeny tiny little blood stain on the girlfriend's carpet and all of a sudden "AHH def Bloody Face!!1!"

Yeah, that is cheating. He went to her house after he abducted her and then acted like he was figuring stuff out? There was no motivation to do that, other than to trick the audience. So boo for that.

Thoughts on the newest episode? I think it was hard to try to top last weeks episode (which is didn't).

I was actually kind of content to just stop watching this season until I heard the last few episodes were great. I wasn't disappointed! I was hugely into Ed Gein in high school, so I'm enjoying the heavy references. Also nice Mary Bell reference with the little girl/scissors. All the crazy this season is working for me now
