Glory St. Claire series by Gerry Bartlett - it is about a curvy female vampire. As far as I can tell her love interests appear to be male vampires (a quick glance at the author's website http://www.gerrybartlett.com is all I've read). So, I've not read them at all and can therefore not vouch for the quality, but at least we know that the idea exists. I hope the series is good!

i thought we had a general charlaine harris thread, but i couldn't find it. anyway, syfy is making harper connelly into a tv show. the article says grave sight so i'm not sure if they're just planning on that story arc for one season and seeing how it goes or what. but it has the potential to be AWESOME.

I'm kinda looking forward to it, but I'm also a little disappointed that it isn't the Ro Teagarden books. I only just liked the Harper Connelly books, but I love the Ro Teagarden ones (more than the Sookie books, even).

You really should! They don't have a supernatural element - it's just a smart woman using her brains to solve crimes. There is that typical romance element, but not to the extent that most of the other series have had (but I've never read the Lily Bard books, so maybe that's different). I dunno, I just liked the Teagarden books so much that I flew through all 8 (in a 2-volume omnibus) in about a week.

I just finished Deadlocked. So boring, you guys. So. Boring. It's so slow, and every time you think something exciting is about to happen, it's nothing. Or it's not nearly as exciting as you'd hope for. There's very little fighting. Most of the book is Sookie thinking about things, or people talking about things. Even the end wasn't that exciting. I'm kinda glad the next book is the last in the series, because CH is seriously running out of steam (and ideas). It's totally set up for Sookie to end up with Sam in the last book. Whoever said that first nailed it, because if she doesn't, it'll kinda be a big kick in the balls to all the readers, given the way this book ended.

I had such high hopes since book 11 was alright. Not as good as the first, say, 5 books, but significantly better than book 10. She's really just phoning it in now. You can tell she's already done with Sookie in her mind.

I've heard it's BAD which is SAD :( it was the one you liked so probably. rachell37 wrote: I had such high hopes since book 11 was alright.
