Isn't this the spoilers thread? Is there another thread for non-spoilers? There are a lot of TB threads, and I don't know if it's the same for GoTs.

I'm still only halfway through Book 4. I haven't even been trying to read it lately, which is just as well, since it will be awhile until I can get my hands on Book 5. :D

Oh, man. I completely forgot about Dance coming out. I'm particularly interested to see where we are with the Greyjoys (basically everyone but Theon) and Arya.

I don't think we'll see Arya or the Greyjoys since they had POVs in feast. Dance is going to be the mustard, the imp and Daenerys from what I understand.

The book is like 1000+ pgs and people are already posting reviews on Amazon. Skimming is not the same as reading. *sigh*

Oh, right. I forgot about that. So we'll have to wait for Winds to get back to Brienne, then? Oy.

But yeah, I'm afraid so. As much as I love Brienne I'll gladly take some Jon and Tyrion chapters over Brienne chapters any day. Maybe that's I'm overgeneralizing. Tyrion has had his boring moments.

I blame the lack of Tyrion, Jon and Dany for my difficulty with Book 4!

Normally I'd agree. I guess I just have a weakness for ridiculous cliffhangers like that. I'm anxious to get back to Tyrion. For some reason, Jon's chapters are the ones I have difficulty getting through.

I think it's fair to use spoiler tags for any comments about DwD for a couple of weeks, seeing as it's only just come out - I don't think we need a new thread just to discuss book 5.

Now I really need to get back to reading Storm of Swords.

I don't know when I read this Re: the greyjoys, book 3/4 or in a preview chapter Martin put out a couple years ago so spoiler tags.

Yeah, I never read the preview chapters. I want to experience it in it's entirety. At the beginning of Dance George writes that Feast and Dance run parallel to each other but then they all run back together towards to later in the book so my understanding is that Dance goes further chronologically. So, I think if we see Theon we'll see him in the 2nd half. Not sure.

Gawd, I need to just crank through the book I'm reading now and start on DANCE!

Aw, and here I had my heart set on a "A Feast of Crows up to but no further than page 310 thread." :D

Nope, hopefully someone else has finished so they can talk about it with you, Rach! I am 60% of the way through Sword of Storms, I just read the scene with Edmure's wedding @ the Twins - I did not see that coming.

Ach, Rach*n! You read that fast. I'll be starting it soon. I still have 400 pgs in WoT book #5 that I'm looking to crank out over the next week or so. Then I can (finally!) start Dance.

Kitteh, that wedding would be point #2 where I threw the book across the room and ranted for awhile. Eddard's death being #1 of course.

My gf has started the book. *jealous* I'm excited about the Brienne casting!

She has the look of Brienne. Could use some stronger arms and she'll have to cut her hair shorter, of course.

I finished it a few days ago, intense is the right word to describe it. I thought you guys were joking about Catelyn becoming a zombie! I feel for Arya, nothing seems to go right for her.


I hope the Freys get what's coming to them and Joff dying almost made up for Robb's death.

I've started AFFC and I'm going to try and stick with it rather than reading other books on the side.

I've got 20% of AFFC to go. I'm happy that Cersei seems to be going mad but I worry for Tommen & Margaery. And Qyburn is creeping me out big time.

The guy they cast for Davos looks so much like the Davos I pictured in the books.

Stannis looks absolutely nothing at all like I imagined...maybe make-up will change that? Natalie Dormer is so cute, I like her as Margaery.

I like who they've cast for Margaery but for some reason I thought Melisandre was older but I have a tendency to skim read so maybe I didn't pay attention when he described her.

I finished A Feast for Crows yesterday. Damn you, ZombieCat, poor Brienne. And it's so weird to now be on Jaime's side. Also, was Cersei wrong in regards to the prophecy she's so worried about, was it about Dany not Margaery?

I've started A Dance with Dragons. It's odd to be back at the same point in time where AFFC also started but I'm happy we get to see different characters in this book.

Well, Kitteh it looks like you're probably going to finish Dance before I do. Still haven't started it.

I thought Margaery was much younger than who they cast for her. Like Sansa's age. But I heard that all the Stark kids, Dany and Joffrey etc. were all older in the HBO series, so I guess that makes sense.
