Didn't Don tell Peggy that you help people up and then they leave you? If so, Don and Meghan are toast. Man, Pete gets punched a lot. (Where do I sign up?)

The fact that I hate Pete so much makes me love that actor even more. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to dissociate his character from him should he go on to something else.
Also, Roger butt. Awesome.

that was amazing, just amazing. The depth of each character, who ever calls this a soap needs eyes. So many little things about the characters you needed to know from previous episodes to get... and so many classic lines, I need to use the 'you have my proxy I have things to do line' in a meeting one day... that was classic :) and theres no room for all the ballerinas.. what a bisque! there were loads of quotes, I need the transcript.
- Pete, I feel for Pete :( his scene in the hospital where he explains, was like wow, he's ambitious but doesn't really understand what he wants and then he finds something and its gone. Can be underhand and vile but human underneath. - Peggy, the scene with Don... why couldn't he be like that with her before she left :( theres still time. Her smile at being in virginia. - Rodger, his life changed because of LSD, love it....! - Joan, is the new Lane, wearing the glasses talking about money, getting the new floor. The look she gave Don explaining why she should have given Lane what he wanted... why didn't Don tell her the truth?
There were so many little things in this episode that just made it why Mad Men is excellent. The hanged brother... AND I kind of took Don walking away from his wife on shoot as something to do with the fact he met Betty on a fur shoot set and moved her away from that, its now pay back... yet I get the whole 'people you help leave you' comment, and when he was at the bar, I was like.. let a woman sit next to him... again full circle... And the bond music when he walked away... omg
I may have doubted the start of the season but after the snowball of the last episodes, the show just knew about to create that snow ball for all the characters.
How long till I can watch the entire season again? :)

Can I please get a perpetual loop of Pete getting punched in the face this season?! After the lead-up to the season finale I was just going crazy thinking what could possible happen? I needed Xanax to prevent a nervous Mad Men related breakdown. I was not disappointing - Don strolling off set into the dark? Roger butt? It was so, so, so good. Also, Peggy seeing humping dogs out her new, charmed life window? Of course she did.
(PS How good does Juliette Binoche look??? SHEESH! I want some secrets!)

Oh yeah, that was amazing! I think Megan's going to leave the show. Her story is kind of over, and that felt like closure.

What do you guys think the Roger naked scene means? Is he going to try being alone? Face his demons? Jump off a building naked? Or is he just going to start giving peep shows?

I can really see roger selling drugs/living with a hippie girlfriend who sells drugs out of his apartment. He desperately wants to be young. I think he will go all in for the mind-altering substances.

I could see it being about risk, "exposure", and power in vulnerability. I could totally see him continuing to be fascinated with drugs. He's appearing very invested in finding meaning around him.

i think it's funny that he was hesitant before he and his wife took it the first time, she had a terrible time, he had a great time, and then he took it alone.

Not to talk about doing PCP with my friends, but that tends to be how it goes, expectations man... But in this episode! I lovelovelove the line they've walked with "Good Don" and "Bad Don" this season, it is genius and makes me appreciate "Bad Don" so much more. I've also come around to Alexis Bleidel's character, I think I may have been looking at her through Pete-smudged glasses.

IsaChandra wrote: I hope season 6 starts with Don and Meghan divorced. Totally possible. I really didn't "get" Meghan at first and was incredibly annoyed by her character and role in the plot development, but she grew on me and at this point I would be sad to see her go. I was talking about this with a coworker- do you think Meghan isn't getting acting jobs because she's a terrible actress? I kind of got the feeling that's what was going on and because of the way everyone treats her about it.

I think we're supposed to believe that the only reason she got that job in the commercial is because Don recommended her. So, no, I don't think she's supposed to be a very good actress.

I think she sucks at acting, but also I think that the people auditioning her sense her snobby entitlement, and that plays in to why she's never called back. When Don walked away on set that seemed like as obvious a separation as we'll ever get on Mad Men.

That is a great article. I knew he was a minimalist and living in a little shack, but not everything else.
