I didn't want to start a new thread, but I don't know if this is appropriate here. Basically, I need advice. If you were going to get a tattoo of a durian, something like this: where would you get it? I don't want to put it somewhere that will get all saggy and/or wrinkly. But where does that leave? And, is this a stupid idea: Figs! Two figs tattooed on my belly, approximately where my ovaries are. Oh god, when I type it it just sounds leotarded. Is it leotarded, ppk? What do you think?

Pretty much everything is going to get saggy eventually.
Lower belly tattoos are cute. Figs are...er, not cute exactly, but definitely sexy. Go for it.

My god, there are beautiful pieces in here.
I'm thinking I might get the tattoo I've had in my head for ages as a present/reward for myself once money isn't so tight anymore. And if I can find a tattoo place that has vegan ink and good artists. It would be my first one... eeee!

I have an appointment in January with brian and scapegoat to get my leg done! I'm so excited! I will say for now, it involves a giraffe. Which is the best animal. My first is also by Brian, it's on my right side eta: it's been touched up since then and looks better! Maybe one day I'll get around to taking another picture.

A friend and I are thinking of getting matching cherry blossom tattoos. Does anyone have any inspiration for designs?

Everything gets saggy. Do you think you'll really care at that point? Would you regret it if you didn't get it because it might not look great in 50 years? I would get it pretty big on my calf, outside thigh, or inner bicep. It'd be hilarious in your armpit, but that hurts like a bisque. I love really visible tattoos but if you want it easily hidden then your side would also work. And I love the idea of figs on ovaries. I would steal it if I didn't already have an idea for that real estate.

Apologies for the bad photo and bad lighting. This was taken just after the second sitting. It says 'whoever said money can't buy happiness never had a guinea pig' and is a tribute to my departed and much-missed piggy, Muckerbee. You can't see too well but there are tomatoes at the bottom, broccoli on the right and lettuce at the top.

I have always wanted a plaid tattoo (see: username) but I just haven't gotten around to getting one yet. I have some tattoos, but no pictures of them. I have a crow on my inner right forearm, a stylized take on Our Lady of Sorrows on my inner left forearm, a snake with banner saying "Merci Pour Le Venin" on my outer left forearm, another take on Our Lady of Sorrows (more traditional) on my upper left arm, zombie cherries for my favorite band Ludo (two of the members are vegans, partially spawning my becoming one), a Hello Kitty cupcake, and on the backs of my calves I have a straight razor on the left leg with a banner that says "From the Razor" and on the right side I have a rosary, with a banner saying "To the Rosary".

Thanks! It was super fun and easy and I feel more complete with it, aesthetically. PM if you get one! I don't know what should go with it but I have a lot of time to think about that while I save.

I have questions.
For those of you who have had your lower extremities tattooed how did the healing process go? I don't think my feet/legs have very good circulation. Most of the time when I get a cut on my feet it takes foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr to heal and then leaves scar tissue. Advice? Do those magnetic shoe insoles work for improving circulation?

My foot was puffy for quite awhile, partially because I was also traveling that day and on my feet much longer than I should have been with a fresh tattoo. But it healed well and didn't take much longer than any others.

I know nothing about the insole things, but I have one foot and both upper thighs tattooed (partially, they're unfinished). Healing was completely uneventful. I went crawling through the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam about three days after I got my foot tattooed and I hurt my toe jumping into a lower tunnel in the pitch-black darkness, the tattoo healed way faster than the resulting blood blister on my toe.

This is the only picture I have of any of my tattoos. The deer is by Matt Headly and the sugar skull is by Justin Haas. I have 8 more. Be prepared. (I'll make the pictures smaller next time)

Man, I wish I could get a tattoo in color, but my skin is too dark. It'll just look like a bruise. Every last tattoo on this page made me gasp in wonder. You guys are freakin awesome. I'm getting another tattoo as soon as I can.
