For those of you who have had your lower extremities tattooed how did the healing process go? I don't think my feet/legs have very good circulation. Most of the time when I get a cut on my feet it takes foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr to heal and then leaves scar tissue. Advice? Do those magnetic shoe insoles work for improving circulation? This is probably the most obvious thing in the world, except it wasn't to me: get one foot/leg done at a time. I made the mistake of getting both feet done at once and I was practically crippled for the next week.

I got both thighs done at the same time and had to sleep straight on my back for a week. A very uncomfortable, not at all well-rested week. I'm now taking my ribs one side at a time to avoid making that mistake again.

I mad a similar mistake, I got both the upper part of my chest and my shoulder blade done, and my throat done all in one sitting. I couldn't find a comfortable way to do anything except lift a 40oz bottle with my other arm ;) Beautiful peacock feather paprikapapaya! How long did that take?

My own design, with veggies! Ooh sorry for the squishiness (and boobness) of that second one, it sort of wraps around my arm. It's a tattoo of one of my first (and most favorite horses that passed away two years ago).

Got my skulltopus! It's not done yet (I'm getting white effects and details in a couple of weeks), and in the pic it looks kind of warped since it wraps around my arm, and the colours look weird too, but here it is:

Dr. Horrible - for some reason I didn't notice your question before. Sorry! Funny, I don't really consider this a sleeve. But you're right, it's not as small as my (wonky) phoenix. Oh, and my BF hates it. But I love it (so what the fizzle).
Coolest side-effect: Standard short sleeves will turn it into an octopus. ;)

This was done yesterday morning, so it's still healing. There are little oogies all over my wrist so plz excuse that in the picture. I don't think the reference is that difficult to get, but it's from Where the Wild Things Are! And the neat thing is that because the tattoo is so high up on my wrist (and not too thick), it gives me more room on my forearm to get ink done than I was originally anticipating. Next tattoo: My Neighbor Totoro/Studio Ghibli tribute, probably a large greyscale piece on my upper arm of Totoro playing a flute on a tree branch and some other characters beside him (makkuro kurosuke, tree spirits, small Totoros). That would be for the summer. I haven't come up with a knockout design yet.

Here's two of my tattoos, while the lower one was still healing: The lotus I got because I was going through a bad time (although it was about to get much worse) and I thought about how beautiful it is that lotuses grow up through the water and the muck to become a beautiful flower sitting on top. I thought it was a good reminder. The parrot flower is matching with one my mom has. We wanted to get a tattoo together, but didn't know what to get. She got an email with photos of the parrot flower, and she was like "let's get that!" And I was like "okay!" And here we are. For my next tattoo, it's kind of a toss up between a few things. One would be this image of Totoro and friends on the left side of my torso. Another would be some sort of homage to Sailor Moon on the right side of my torso. Sailor Moon was a huge part of my life growing up, just like Totoro was, so I'd like to get both of these eventually. Another is to get Teddie from Persona 4, probably on my thigh. My last idea is to get the Prince. I just don't know which one I want to do first. It probably says something about me that the things I most want to get tattoos of now are kind of childish.

I finally got my Elliott Smith tattoo done. I've been wanting to get a new tattoo to mark the turning point in my existence (leaving the past behind & moving to NYC)... I loves me some Elliott Smith, but this we know.
