I was heartbroken beyond belief when I found out that their 30th anniversary US tour was canceled. I wanted to see Blixa Bargeld so forking bad!

Yeah. I used to really be into his stuff in college, but haven't paid much attention in the past few years. I always loved that deer drawing though and kept going back to it as an idea for a tattoo.

So far I figured it would only be the locomotive, but I think it will need some sort of context instead of just a cut and paste look?

I have a couple of really beautiful sketches from another good friend that I'd love to get as tattoos. I just need to stop putting it off!

I think Brian only started working at Sacred recently? He used to work at Braindrops in SF, then he owned Warlock in the Mission. Sacred as a shop is pretty typical (they seem to do a lot of flash) but Brian is anything but. Fantastic artist, does awesome color, refuses to do flash.

I just realized what a huge idiot I am, and conflated Sacred=Temple. DERRR, two different shops Erika! Anyway, I stopped going to Temple even though I like it because their desk people are always total crassholes and wouldn't let me plan vegan inks in advance. I will check out Sacred!

My close friend Gaytha works at Sacred. She did the scissors I have on each arm. She's fantastic!

This was my first tattoo. There is a zombie hand coming up from the dirt on the back of each leg from the heel to the back of my knee. The ankle and back of the knee hurt the worst during these sessions. The tattoo artist is Chris Autry of Black Orchid Tattoo in Savannah, GA. I gave him the concept and colors I wanted and then he drew these up for me.

I've been filling in a panoramic zombie apocalyptic scene around the hands for over 5 years. It's completed now but I've been lazy and need to stitch together photos of everything not pictured that ties everything togeter. Here are pictures from different sessions with the same artist as above.

This one came from concert poster art of an artist in NC. The tattoo was done by Danielle Distefano who at the time was working at 13 Roses in ATL but now co-owns Only You Tattoo. This tattoo was by far the most painful of any work I've had done.

This tattoo is about 10" across and is located between my shoulder blades. It's William Schaff's version of St. George and the Dragon. I had Raphael's painting of this scene on the wall of my bedroom as a child and William Schaff is also amazing so this tattoo seemed like a natural choice. This image is also used on the Okkervil River Black Sheep Boy Appendix EP.

I love this tattoo because it was my first and I designed it, but man oh man. I know better now about going to a reputable shop. eta: 2006.

Also, I love love love everyone's tattoos. I keep coming back to this thread and getting excited about getting something new done. I think I want a sugar skull tattoo next, but I want to design it.
