yeah, I think when parents or other people who are of a different generation ask me that question they don't take in to account the prevalence of tattoos in our culture right now. They're coming from a time period where sailors and drug addicts were the people who had tattoos, and "nice respectable people" were free of ink. I usually respond that I will be pretty happy as an old tattooed lady, and so will a couple thousand of my peers.

Vijita and Rowan those are beautiful! I want my next tattoo to be done at the Tattoo Zoo. Rowan wrote: Out of curiousity, how do you guys respond when people ask the question "what if twenty years down the road you hate your tattoo and regret getting it?"?
I just tell them that I got my tattoo during one of the best times of my life, when met some of my best friends, and no matter how it may change over the years, it will always remind me of that.

I think this is such a dumb question, so I often will just give a withering look, but I usually pull some version of "I'll worry about it when it happens then/none of your stupid business/don't you have better things to worry about/so you've never done anything you weren't 100% certain you would be happy with for the rest of your life?" When I'm 80 years old, I'm pretty sure I'll have better things to think about then my tattoos looking bad.

I can't recommend them enough! Awesome guys, awesome environment, vegan inks, vegan calzones next door... I was blown away by Gerry's understanding of my very intangible vision.

I got a stick-n-poke tattoo yesterday. I actually really like it! It kind of reminds me of a toe-ring. My friend got a little whale on his inner am, I should've gotten a pic of that, it was super cute! I love drunk art students who have an affinity for body modification haha

I love the title art for Ponyo: ponyo by CDStadt, on Flickr this is the only picture I could find, but it's not the scene I'd get. I'd get the one with only whales or onlly squid/octopi. and this: smash by CDStadt, on Flickr and/or the first page of the inlet of MCatIS with the ivy and spiderweb smashing pumpkins cover art is AMAZING. That's why I first started listening to the band.

Ok I finally took pics of all of mine. I apologize because my iPhone camera doesn't do these types of photos well at all. Got one of these on both my wrists. Family tat. 9 hours, it a cherry blossom branch and a John Ashberry quote that's on a bridge in Minneapolis. I honor of my Grandy. In honor of my first puppy love and my present puppy love. Yep. Hope these show up when I press submit.

I'm in contact with an artist about the artichoke tattoo! Yay! Waiting to hear about availability and veganness (though searching through google it looks like he uses vegan ink)-he was scheduling for August/September last week.

I think I might get my Velveteen Rabbit half-sleeve finished next week, even though it is putting me seriously in debt. I just love it so much!
Just curious, how much do you guys think is reasonable for a forearm half sleeve with an experienced/well-known artist who uses vegan inks? My partner and I have some discord on whether or not my artist is charging an arm and a leg for this piece. It is really expensive, but I hugely respect him, love his work, and he did a ton of work sketching and re-sketching my less-than-tangible ideas. My other tattoos are all pretty small, and I got them before I was vegan/grew the fork up and stopped getting dumb tattoos. I'm just curious what you guys would pay, since we don't really know what is industry standard. My boyfriend has a couple of cool tattoos, but they were all free because he let learning friends tattoo him (which I think is kind of crazy, though they are pretty nice).
