The shop my artist is currently at charges 125$ an hour for everyone but the guy who owns it, who charges 225$ an hour (which seems absolutely insane to me, but he does some really incredible work), and the shop he used to work at charged 100$ an hour. The place where I went for my tattoo was only $60/hr or $70/hr and the guy who did mine was done in two hours. Speaking of which, I never have posted a picture of it here:

This was done in Sacramento yesterday by Chris who has a shop in the Kst. mall. Great place, clean, vegan ink...I had to go through a few artist to finally get my Mar portrait!

I started tattooing my leg, but the design (Basil Gogos painting of Barnabus Collins) was really hard to tattoo upside down, plus my leg was up in a weird position and was shaking after an hour...and I couldn't get at good angles for shading....blah blah blah.
ANYWAYS, that's why it's only half-done

When I was thinking about tattooing 10 or so years ago, I got some help from a couple great tattoo artists, but I ended up doing design and illustration so I shelved my machines. But I still have all my machines, inks and autoclave.

Is it bad that I just got a full time job and my first thought it getting another tattoo. It would be logical to work on my backpiece, but I don't get to see it so I really want to get the semi-truck on my leg that I've wanted for a while. Everything I have is very realistic with minimal black and I want this to be an amazing old school red Peterbilt. I'm super excited!
