My first tattoo in 4 years! Got it last night. It's really different from anything I've ever gotten. Still wrapped and bloody in the photo.

Gorgeous!
I have the phases of the moon across my knuckles, and I really love it as a tattoo. I've seen it as a chest piece done both (curved round) horizontally, and vertically down the centre. It looks great on your arm as well!

This article is making me laugh soooo hard: http://noisey.vice.com/blog/what-your-r ... -about-you

Quote:
There are two places you can get the sparrows. The first is on your hip bones, which is a delightful way to let anyone about to get into your pants for the first time know that this territory has already been charted by the singer of a mid-level screamo band. The other place to get them is on your upper boobs, announcing to anyone who checks out your cleavage that you own three copies of Thursday’s Full Collapse.

Fess up, how many of these do you have? I'll cop to being very close to get a checkered tattoo back in 1998- phew, bullet dodged! And I haven't completely ruled out the idea of a California outline tattoo!

(Please note I'm not posting this in an attempt to be mean-spirited, only self-effacing! Although I don't have any of these tattoos myself, I know plenty of people who do and I'm laughing with them, not at them)

Thanks to the poor choices of 19-year-old me, I definitely have sparrows on my hip bones but I only allow top-tier screamo singers in my pants. None of that mid-level shiitake.

I'm guilty of having a straight edge tattoo, too, but I'm 32 and still straight edge so I don't regret that one. I also have the inside of my lip tattooed and my ears are stretched but I don't have an Earth Crisis face tattoo so clearly I've done at least one thing right.

Oh yeah, I thought nautical stars were the shiitake in the early 2000s. Good thing I wasn't old enough to get tattooed.

I think even if you get something stupid and trendy, it usually ends up being special because it represents that time in your life. I'm not really into some of mine anymore, but I don't regret them.

Oh, gawd. Band symbol on my ankle (covering a terrible Celtic knot, which I'm surprised isn't on there), koi on my back (although mine has wings), sparrows on my chest, stars on one hip. I live to be a cliché!

I have a sparrow but not in either of those places. It was my second tattoo at 19 and I don't regret it.

I also have a band logo. I don't regret that either.

Haha, I did not escape the early 2000's without a whole lot of starts tattooed on me! I also have the stretched ears AND, l just remembered, Goldfinger lyrics! I still love them all though!

I have stars. And they're part of a sun/moon/stars piece, so maybe that counts as nature too? I also have fish, but not in an Asian-esque koi kind of way (Picses fish/symbol... surprised astological symbols didn't make the list!)

I have an artsy sun which I believe should be included in that list. I was 16 and I ALMOST got the Sublime sun, so THANK GOD 16 YEAR OLD ME FOR NOT DOING THAT.

Haha! I heard recently that Sublime was playing locally and I was like "didn't their lead singer die THIRTEEN YEARS AGO?" Then my next question was whether the Dalmatian that's in all their videos was onstage.

Thanks. I'll try and crop my other tat pics. Most of them are different spiritualities that I've studied. I have a b.a. in religious studies. my chest piece is a take on the card that i pull as my card in my tarot deck.
