I want a memorial tattoo for Mar. I got his portrait done a few years ago - maybe adding his dates to it? Also for my food leg I am thinking of getting a cat shaped doughnut or paw shaped pasta - Mar's fave food we shared with him...The boyfriend with 0 tattoos is thinking of getting something too...

The food ones both sound really cute. It seems like a great memorial tattoo.

I really want to get some autumn leaves to wrap around my right forearm that has my cat tattoo on the inside of the arm. To match but not match the green and yellow art nouveau foliage that wraps around my Velveteen Rabbit tattoo on my left arm. In doing this I'll also need my kitty retouched, because it's not always the best idea to drop in to a random tattoo parlour on vacation in Ireland. I still love it because it's Puddy, but my regular tattoo artist will probably be horrified.

I have some friends living in Victoria right now who are trying to convince me that I should stay with them and get tattooed by Gerry Kramer. Right now it's only a daydream, but I'd like to do that! Planning, planning. Because I need MORE tattoos.

My friend had really beautiful work done by Gerry. My heart (and tattoos) belong to Colin, though, who left there and now works down the street. He is just amazing. He can take a really vague description and nail what was in your head but make it about 500x better.

That whale tattoo is the best ever. I love whales so I'm a little jealous!

Since I was talking about ingrown hairs in this thread I thought I would update here. The hammam glove + Tend Skin* combo is working really well. I only have a couple now (down from like, 20) and one of those is because I shaved in a bit of a hurry a few days ago. Some of the old ones are still kinda reddish but close to healed. My tattoo area is good to go for my appointment in a couple weeks, eee!

* The homemade stuff works just as well as the purchasable kind, IMO. I recommend grinding up the aspirin in a pill crusher (or mortar & pestle?) before attempting to dissolve it.

Question about the Tend Skin: how/when do you apply it?

I scored myself a salux cloth in Japantown a few weeks ago and omg it is wonderful. I thought it was just another loofah but NO it is like a cloth of teeny tiny massaging hands. My whole body is vibrating after I scrub myself down with it!

I use the reusable roll-on bottle to spread it on, but you could probably use cotton balls or something like that. First clean the area with the ingrowns and make sure it is totally dry before applying. Then apply the Tend Skin to that area. You can do it twice a day, I do once after I shower in the morning and once before bed.

You can also spread it all over after shaving to keep new ones from popping up. I still got one new one after I shaved but that's way less than usual for me.

Nooooo! My appointment for today was canceled last minute because my artist is sick. She said she'd give me a new appointment as soon as possible, but I'm still bummed.

Oh man, that sucks. I had an appointment cancelled last year because the artist broke his wrist. I had to wait 8 weeks!
