I can't decide if Captain Hook is kindof hot or if he looks like Mystery the Pick-Up Artist (like maybe all he's missing are some goggles and a giant fuzzy hat).

I thought that was a pretty good episode. Weird how he kept his bean for all that time though.
I don't see the Mystery connection, but that is one of the worst shows ever that I have enjoyed.

I think Captain Hook looks like Jess Mariano from Gilmore Girls dressed up for Halloween as Jack Sparrow. I'm not super impressed.

I loved Jess too, he was my #1 Rory BF. I guess I should have clarified that it's the Jack Sparrow thing I'm not liking, I know ABC and Disney are affiliated, but it would have been nice to get a more original take on Captain Hook. The Jess part was just who I think he looks like.

Haha he does look like Jess on Halloween! Hahaha. I'm so tired of Rumple and Belle, and what was up with there being NO Regina, Emma, or Snow? At least we saw Cora bringing the badness with Hook! So excited for their pairing; at least it's exciting.
Also, Maurice would never be that mean to Belle. I mean didn't the writers see how happy he was with Mrs. Potts at the wedding??

Luv me some guyliner! I do think he was better looking when clean-cut as a priest in The Rite (for all that I'm a lifelong athiest I think I have a little 'nauty catholic girl' inside), but I'll take him scruffy here too.
I'm liking the interaction between Belle and Rump/Gold, but wish we'd seen a bit more of someone else's story. And are they making next weeks episode look scary/intense because it's Halloween?

How old do you think Hook and the guy with the red hat are? They went to a land where they wouldn't age and that part of the Rumple story was long ago, right?

Trying to guess ages/passage of time is so confusing I've given up. No one seems to have aged except Regina and Snow from the flashbacks to 'present time', and Emma and August since they came to our world. I know it's tv, but it gets hard to figure out when stories have happened, and I like to have a correct timeline.

Well, the end to that story arch was a bit of a disappointment, is the Dr. really from a fairy tale?

I guess my problem was that they've said that only our world didn't have any magic, but it didn't seem that the Dr's world had any either. Other than they were all living in B&W.
Jorge Garcia will be great, too bad it doesn't look like as a permanent cast member.

I still don't get it, re: James Whale.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh. I never would've gotten that.
Also, does this mean that all literature gets to be considered part of "fairytale" world, or are they using Frankenstein because they own Frankenweenie?

It almost seems like a hybrid world because Frankenstein was set in actuality, yes? Though obviously fiction.

I was really hoping they would put in an homage to Young Frankenstein! Maybe a Frau Blucher whinny or a line from Igor (Where wolf? There wolf! or Walk this way, sir.) or something about the heart coming from Abby Normal.

Frankenstein's land is a different world, right? Not our world and not Fairytale land either. At least that's what I got.

I kept thinking he looked like Joseph Fiennes, especially in Shakespeare in Love. I'm starting to think that the other "worlds" can be any land that is shown in any type of literature. Maybe the idea is that literature is just a peak into a real place. Since it is just an author's "peak," that might be why the true stories of those lands would be a little different than what ends up in those pieces of literature. So, yeah, Frankenstein's land would not have magic--though apparently magic can operate there because the heart didn't just stop.
