I love the episode where Worf has to take care of Data's cat, Spot. Data is going through this list of instructions on Spot's favorite food and how to pet him and stuff and Worf is holding the cat straight out at arms length and replies, "I will feed it". Classic!

When I was seven, we went to Canada's Wonderland and there were a bunch of Klingons walking around. I know I said Vulcans are my favourite, and they are, but I really loved Worf as a kid too. So I freaked out and was so happy to see what I thought were real Klingons!
Then my grandmother ruined it by asking them how they do their make up. Ruined the magic! It was worse than finding out there was no Santa.

It's really kind of amusing to see Voyager actors playing non-Voyager characters in TNG. Like Paris in "The First Duty" playing a hotshot cadet who pulls a flight maneuver that kills another cadet, and when Tuvok plays some unnamed goon in "Starship Mine". When I noticed Paris in "The First Duty", I was really hoping that was actually Paris.

The producers really liked that character and the actor and wanted to make him a main on Voyager but if they kept his name they would have had to pay a residual to the writers of "The First Duty" every episode. So they changed his name and instead of getting expelled from the academy he got thrown out of starfleet.
Series: DS9 Character: Tough one. I love Quark--he's great commentary on Trek's utopianism, which was pretty stale by the 90s. Garak is great too. Data. Spock. fork humans. Alien species: The metaphor aliens from TNG! They're so wonderfully implausible. Episode: The Inner Light. If you didn't cry at the end, you and I aren't friends. Villian: Hmm. Star Trek doesn't stand out for its villains in my mind. AI Moriarty was pretty good, I guess. Movie: Galaxy Quest.

How have I gone my whole life without knowing how amazing this is? I just started watching from the beginning of TOS...I'm almost through S1. I realize this is absolute blasphemy but I might actually like this better than Firefly.

"Amok" is what I just watched. The scene where Spock gives Kirk the Vulcan sex ed talk is possibly the best thing that has ever happened on my laptop.

TNG with DS9 a close second Worf because he's fabulous. My fav villain is a tie between Lore and Q Alien species: Ferengi Movie The Undiscovered Country. I know... I can't identify a fav episode but I like any when Picard is on the holodeck.

Okay. Favorite character. My dad was in love with Beverly but my loyalties change depending on what series I'm watching and what kind of mood I'm in. Andorians just cause I love those stupid blue antennae. Episode. I'd have to think on that awhile. Villain. Lore probably. Movie - Anything but Nemesis.

Ok, whoever voted Enterprise as the best series must confess.
Favourite Series: Next Generation, followed by DS9 and TOS. Favourite Character: Data and Garak Favourite alien species: The genderless aliens from that one episode of TNG. I was like 8 or 9 when I saw that episode and it blew my little mind. Favourite episode: TNG, "Best of Both Worlds" Favourite Villain: KHAAAAAAN!!! Movie: Wrath of Khan or the JJ Abrams Star Trek

I have not seen all of DS9 but, compared to the other Star Trek series', it's probably the least likely to disappoint following TNG. Avoid Voyager. AVOID.
I just finished re-watching all of DS9 on Netflix.
It holds up pretty well, and I still <3 Garak, but I never want to hear about the prophets or Bajor or the emissary of the prophets of Bajor ever again.

Voyager is awful. Episode after episode, the crew suffers because one of them is incompetent. By the end of the episode, absolutely nothing has changed. Nothing! Seven years and they lose one hanger-on and pick up one unfortunate Borg and that is it!
And it's no surprise because nothing a threat to the Voyager! They talk of avoiding hostile alien territories but when they (inevitably!) stumble into them, they summarily exert their dominance and move right along! The Borg. The forking Borg. A single Borg cube wipes out an entire armada of Starfleet vessels at Wolf 359. Their first appearance in Voyager, in the Delta quadrant, their home? Oh, they're being chewed up and spat out by some subspace bugs. Whom the benevolent, and valiant crew of the Voyager wipe out within two episodes. I guess the Borg aren't a threat any more!
Here's every single episode of Voyager: Oh no, we're stuck in a bad situation because we screwed up! But everything turns out alright in the end, and everything is just as it was before we got ourselves into this shiitake. THE END. You could summarize the entire forking series that way. And don't get me started on stupid forking holodeck episodes and how the Year of Hell should have stuck.

Series: DS9, followed closely by TOS and then also quite closely by TNG. I agree with everything Brian said about Voyager however I still can watch it and be entertained by a good handful of episodes. Some I definitely have to skip though. Character: No one favorite, but top contenders are Sulu, Quark, Worf, Spock, Garak, Data, Picard. I feel like I could be missing some. Sisko, the Doctor, Tuvok, Wesley and Kirk are all pretty bangin' too. Alien species: Edo (joking... sort of. Klingons, Ferengi and Cardassians is more like it.) Episode: Can't pick one. Villian: I agree with just mumbles that Star Trek isn't really about villains at all. Q is a good choice, like many have picked though. And would the Romulans be villains? I wouldn't call them that no, but I do love them. Movie: Meh. They're alright to watch but none are good enough to pick a favorite I think.
