I think Juliet and the captain have more chemistry than Juliet and uh... whatshisname. (I think whatshisname is cute and likeable, but still.)

I haven't watched since last year but I saw last night's episode because it was La Llorona. Monroe is still the best. I need to catch up and get back into it.

Well, the entire Portland PD staff is only two detectives (in charge of investigating ALL crime), one police office, a dopey intern, and the police chief. This also explains why they never call for back up.

Who needs it, it's obviously totally okay to pull in your finance (who doesn't know who the fork you are) to translate such an exotic language. Think of the money they saved by not paying a real cop! Pay no mind to the liability and legal issues this could entail.

I haven't followed this Season at all but I really enjoyed Season 1. Perhaps a task for this weekend.

I am! I don't plan my nights around it but I catch it On Demand when I'm looking for something to watch. It's pretty cheesy at times, but I still like it.

I still watch it, but only because I live in Portland. The Juliet stuff has been dragged out for way too long, so I've been ready to quit a few times.

I really like it even though its so cheesy.
God, I love when they have German words/sentences in there. As always in Hollywood: dont you have 5 dollars to spare to get someone who speaks the language to check if you're not talking total bullshiitake?

I decided to check it out and ended up marathoning it in less than a week so unlike everyone else, I pretty much saw all of the episodes back to back. It's so cheesy but I do love it!
I can't imagine what they're saying in German. Is it just a bunch of nonsensical words?

Sometimes the grammar is off or you just wouldnt say it like that, sometimes just the pronounciation. And I still find it funny that the monsters are called "wesen". I know its supposed to be like "creatures" but it's... not. I loved when they did the "alles hat ein ende nur die wurst hat zwei" (everything has an end, only the sausage has two). I laughed because I always thought the saying was so weird.
I marathoned the first season by the way. This way it was so much fun despite being cheesy. I can imagine doing that again in the future when Ive forgotten most of it...

You know I'm going to ask you to translate everything from the show now, right?

Well, it does mean "being" or "creature" or "human being", but it's mostly used as "essence". Like when I'm talking about the core of a thing I could say it's "wesen" is good/bad. It's mostly used in philosophy classes or maybe some literature.
Oh, definitely! I didn't see the thread earlier but now I'll definitely go and post my language complaints.
By the way, my spanish isnt good, but I got the impression they do get the Spanish right all the time, is that correct?

I don't really "speak" it but I studied it a bit. For the next episodes I'll have my Spanish and Latin workbooks right next to me.

I didn't realise they were saying (or trying to say) 'wesen' for a good long while! Because in my mind it's pronounced with a long e, like in dutch. I laughed at the wurst one too. The Spanish sounds a little off to me, it sounds very basic and not flowing like it should be, but I don't even speak Spanish so what do I know.
