I can't believe the season finale is here already. I don't know if I'm happy or sad that he went the way he did. Also, super frustrated with Carrie and super frustrated with the CIA leadership that keeps letting her be so involved when she has so thoroughly abandoned the plan.

I find it weird that Carrie can just waltz around Tehran without anybody thinking she's out of place and following her. Going on vacation in Tehran is not a thing Americans do, right?

RIGHT. And thanks for writing that so I can show my boyfriend how normal people think. (Don't get me started.)

Carrie's cover was that she was French. That's why she was speaking French.

I think 'Americans' was just standing in for 'not Iranians'.

Yeah I kept being surprised that Carrie was SO WHITE and alone and a woman and no one was paying attention to her.

But even more importantly, she was STARING at and following Brody, and on the phone like clearly doing something out of the ordinary, and sitting in a car clearly on a watch...it was all cray.

Guys have you noticed that we went 2 weeks without Dana?

In other news, we had a surprise German houseguest last night and we were all debriefing homeland and he had the same incredulity about anybody vacationing in Iran, including any and all Europeans.

I am 4 minutes into the finale and I'm already stressed out.

I watched this earlier today (the episodes have been posted to the torrent sites early for the past few weeks) and I think it had an unreasonable impact on my mood all day. What a horrible, depressing hour of horribleness. Holy shiitake.

Why the hell did they have to show the hanging? Seriously, why?

I assumed they showed it so there was no doubt he died.

I've been feeling like his story has pretty much run its course, so I'm glad he's gone. It *does* seem like everything's wrapped up a little too neatly, though, and I feel like next season we'll learn that things aren't as tidy as they seem.

France does still have an economic relationship with Iran, so she could have been there on "business"...but still. Also, I enjoy the way she runs around on the street yelling into her phone in English. Airtight cover.

Wait, there's gonna be another season? That looked like an ending to me. I was pretty satisfied with it because it tied up all the loose ends. Another season would be pointless. Especially without Mandy.

Lots of theories on the interwebs that Brody is still alive. That Javadi helped him fake his death. That the "cockroach" bit was foreshadowing.

I kind of hope he's alive if there's actually another season, because I don't really want to watch a show without him or Mandy. And, the reveal of his actually being alive would be so soap-opera-crazy that it would be a fun last season, watching it go completely off the rails. But I do wish last night's was the series finale, because it would have made a good one.

I just think it seemed too much like a series finale and there's going to be a big reveal next season that makes it clear things were not as they seemed.

But we'll see. A year is a long time to wait.

I think the if Brody is still alive, Carrie was not in on the plan.

I was looking at a tour group that visits Teheran and parts of Iran, so it is a thing but it's not people running around the street like Carrie, that's for damn sure!

I wish that had been the series finale. It would make up for the horrible dexter finale.

HA! Seriously. Though really, nothing could make up for that apart from the cast of Dexter getting back together for a do-over that doesn't suck.

We have a definite answer about Saul next season (creator's comments on whether Mandy will be in it) Saul's fate

Hah, I totally forgot about Jessica and Dana. Remind me again why they wasted so many episodes on those characters?
