Not happy with that finale. Everyone knows the big bad's supposed to die/get caught in the season finale so we can move on to the next. I'm not staying on for the ride if brody's just bad and never gets caught. That's no fun.

Yeah, I agree. There should have been closure of some sort. It's weird because I really loved the pace of the season. They didn't drag anything out and there was a lot of surprising stuff. So yeah, I thought they would provide some payoff for the finale.

Yeah, but if he died, then what would happen next season? I much prefer more Damian Lewis.

I guess it's hard to kill the bad guy when he's your main character.

Yeah, I didn't want him dead. Just some sort of satisfaction. I still love the show, I was just kinda "meh" about the finale.

I was amused by the amazing difference between Homeland and the show immediately preceding it (Dex, of course). One had a very anticlimactic season finale, the other had a cliffhanger so dramatic it was almost desperate. It just amused me.
And I so wanted Carrie to be proven right. I mean, she was right and lost everything, stupid dramatic irony. I don't mean to pick things apart, but did NO ONE notice the dude with a switch in his hand squeezing his eyes shut and straining like that? But the look on his face when he clicked and nothing happened really made it all worthwhile.

I was getting annoyed because it seemed like everyone in that room was way too calm except Brody. If I was that close to someone who got sniped and watched it, I'd be freaking the fork out.

Me too, I really wanted her to stop the treatment when she remembered about Brody's nightmare but then she lay back down. I hope she remembers and somehow gets her job back. And totally, he looked like he was about to have a breakdown and the VP kept looking at him but no one seemed alarmed. I guess he has a good excuse, like he said to the first guy in the bathroom, he doesn't like being locked up. If he'd gone through with it, I can't imagine how his daughter would have felt, she'd noticed he was acting weird, she'd probably blame herself for not speaking up for years.

Did his daughter cut the wires on the vest? If not, who did? Just a glitch?

Maybe you're right, he just hid it in the wardrobe which seemed like the silliest spot to put it, maybe she found it and that's why she tried to get him to stay.
I told a friend about this show and she spent the Christmas weekend watching it and now she's hooked too.

I stayed an extra day at my parents' house because they get Showtime and I started watching and OH MY GOODNESS this is the greatest show EVER! I watched the entire season in 2 days and I just cannot get on with my life until I know what happens next. Freaking amazing show.

Yup she won and the show won best drama. So deserved. She was so believably crazy-but-brilliant the last few episodes.

Best new tv show in as long as I can remember. Certainly the best first season I EVER remember seeing. Every moment was phenomenal.

I don't follow award shows but I'm glad she won. I think playing that level of instability is hard to do without overdoing it and she was perfect.

YES. So excited. So was that a set-up for the tailor to kill him that went awry?

Ohhh my goodness!! I am happier for her being vindicated than I've been for anything in my own life in weeks. Did anyone else cry when she watched the video? She's amazing. And yes that whole 'transport the tailor' thing made no sense, unless it was a plot actually to kill Brody. Why on earth would they have the congressman risk so much by transporting the guy? Why would they waste his time? But then why would they want anything bad for Brody when he just saved Abu Nazir's life? Maybe it was just bad writing meant to allow Jessica to have her moment, allow Mike to be all 'oh hey Brody cheated? Then we can cheat too!', allow the audience to feel less sympathetic for Brody (though I still can't help it, which is proof of how good this show is bc damn he's a would-be terrorist), and stop his home life from getting too comfortable. Crazy shiitake. Best ending though. More Mandy next week please!
Also, in longer term, we still have a CIA leak to uncover, right? Wasn't there something last year proving that there was a leak within the org? I feel like it can't be Estes logically, and it better not be Danny bc it would kind of be cheap to have the one Muslim in the CIA be bad. It would be mind-blowing if it were Saul.

It might not be logical, but I'm leaning towards Estes just based on the preview for next week (the look on his face when Saul brings in the video of Brody).

I don't remember the leak thing. Claire did such a good job portraying how frustrating it is to be a woman in a mans world last ep. Perfection.
