Has anyone seen it yet? It's not playing here but I have read the book and can't wait to see it. Plus, James Franco! It's getting good reviews but I'd like to hear some opinions from real people. If you haven't heard of it, the movie's website is: http://www.foxsearchlight.com/127hours/

After I read this: "127 Hours' has gotten audiences fainting, vomiting and worse in numbers unseen since 'The Exorcist' - and the movie has not even hit theaters yet." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/0 ... 79118.html I've had second thoughts.

The book almost made me faint when he described purposely breaking the bones in his forearm, one after the other, then picking up and severing a nerve with a dull, rusty knife. *shudders* But I will probably see it anyway.

I saw this this afternoon and I thought it was really well done. The amputation was harder to read than it was to watch.

This makes me more inclined to see it. I should really get this book from the library. As soon as I've stopped being lazy and actually joined the library.

I really didn't think it was faint- or vomit-worthy at all. But then, I used to snack my way through my Medico-Legal Investigation of Death class, complete with slides of bear maulings and hangings, so I might not be that reliable. It was intense in a hold-your-breath kind of way, though.

I saw this during Thanksgiving weekend, and I thought it was really really good. Just well done all around. Yeah, there's about 5 minutes where you might need to look away to keep from puking, but even that was filmed really well.
All in all I'd recommend it!

I saw a preview of this and it was fantastic! Sometimes directors have a hard time creating story when it's a one-wo/man movie, but Boyle rocked it James Franco has really turned out to be an exceptional actor. I mean that one scene where he was fake-hosting a talk show? It was really clever because it forced the audience to laugh along with the laugh track, but then turned it on its heels. Brilliant.

My best friend and I went to the Museum of Death when we were in LA and the guy working there gave us a hard time saying it might be too intense for us and stuff, but it turned out we'd seen everything there on the internet years ago and we just kind of laughed our way through it. I just told Boyfriend that we should go see this when it comes out and he looked a bit queasy at the thought. I think I'll be the one holding his hand and telling him when it's safe to watch again.

I just realised that this won't be released here until February. I don't get it, it's not like the film reels need to get here via long, perilous ocean journey these days. Curse this country!
