Is anyone else using Windows Live that has the links:

Hotmail Messenger Office Photos MSN

across the top of the page? I've used hotmail as my main email for many years, but this one thing is annoying me. Many times when I'm just clicking through mail, I somehow drag over the "Office" link, and it brings up a drop down menu that goes to "my documents." Oh my gosh! I do not want to go there, ever. It's like I have no control over it. It then takes a few..seconds...to go to that document page that I don't want to go to, and then I have to navigate back. (I feel like this belongs in the modern life thread...) Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Actually, you know I think it happens more when I'm moving the cursor from the hotmail page up to the tabs or refresh. Either way...

I finally ditched hotmail this past spring. I haven't looked back.

I have absolutely nothing constructive to add.

Is hotmail a thing again now? Whenever I see someone with a hotmail address it reminds of the early 90's. I shouldn't talk though I guess since still keep my yahoo one in addition to all my new ones.

A thing?
I mean, it's the same one I've had since like 2000. I should make a new one and have everything forwarded there? What should I use?

I still have my old hotmail account but I dread checking it...I do it like once every 3 months. I don't know why I check it, I just get a lot of old junk. And yet I can't let go.

I don't know. My yahoo account I made in 1995 became unmanageably full of spam over the years because their filters suck and the layout just felt so dated that I switched to gmail finally. I only keep my yahoo one now for mailing lists and my grandmother. I always assumed that hotmail was sort of the same in that they weren't able to keep up with things. (apparently I'm not the only one who thought hotmail was old school http://www.cracked.com/article_18574_de ... o-you.html)

I have a gmail one too, but I just don't like it as well. Maybe I just need to get used to it.. it probably doesn't have annoying things.

Hurray! I think you will like it a lot once you get used to it. The folder system is different and takes some familiarizing, but overall the interface is pretty darn good I think.

Can you make it automatically go to the next message once you delete one? It's taking me back to inbox to click on next message.

I have 1 hotmail, 2 gmails, 2 yahoos, and a school one. I am all over the place. Hotmail is my favorite for some reason.

they clsoed my hotmail account recently because the security sucked and people kept hacking it and spamming people. They asked me for my mobile number to text me a confirmation code to sign back in but it really isn't worth it!

Go to the settings link and then the Labs tab and then enable this one:
Auto-advance
by Bruce D

Automatically shows the next conversation instead of your inbox after you delete, archive, or mute a conversation. You can select whether to advance to the next or previous conversation in the "General" Settings page.

Thanks! I went through settings, but didn't look at labs.

I have 1 hotmail, 3 gmails, 3 yahoos - maybe I need to rethink this. I won't give up my hotmail (had it since '98ish) because I am on MSN all day :D

And sorry Ally, I don't have that document issue with the main hotmail page.
