I really kind of just want to play more Spiral Knights tonight. I wasn't the one having lag problems this time so I had a lot of fun!

It plays real easy, but it looks and acts kind of MMOish so it appears slightly daunting. Check out that Spiral Wiki page, I wish I'd known half of that stuff going into it.

And when your friends join, you'll automatically have them added to your friends list, which is super helpful. You should see at least me (my duder's name is Hankrearden) and Chia (chiatroll) on there. Did you get my invite to the game? If you used it, I might have gotten some free energy!

Okay, Spiral Knights firecracker cheevo. Apparently it'll work if one of us crafts it, then we can pass it around to get the cheevo. I've found a list of vendors who sell the recipe and I can afford to buy and craft one, so I'll do that.

Soon I'll have the ability to have friends on Steam when I buy something later today, but I'm Outlier on Steam. (my bf and all the 757Labs people play Team Fortress 2 so I left PW for it)

Thursday deals!

Rift is a pretty new MMO and it's $10. I can't comment on the quality. A lot of people love the Company of Heroes games, a RTS set in WW2 and made by Relic. All three of those can be had for $12.50. If you prefer sci-fi RTS's, the C&C series is on sale. C&C4 may be cheaper than C&C3 but all accounts say to skip it. Risen is an action RPG by the people who made the Gothic series and only $7.50. It's kind of like a third-person Oblivion. Audiosurf is an interesting kind of score-based game for only $1.50. It uses your MP3s for levels but it's not as brain melting as Beat Hazard. You could get all of the Quake games for $13, which is an amazing deal for some classics, but you should really just get the id Super Pack for $30. Sanctum is a first-person tower defense that generated a little buzz when it was released and it's only $3.75. Counterstrike: Source is unexplainably popular and only $5. All of the Tomb Raider games are 75% off. I've heard a lot of good things about Underworld.

I don't have any of today's cheevo games except CSS and Audiosurf, and I have no interest in playing CSS. Watch a movie and get a free ticket!

I thought Rift was always under subscription, except for maybe a free open beta.

oh potentially. I was under the impression it was free, but this might have been back during the beta.

Okay the front page says Risen is $7.50, the game page says it's $10.20. I don't know, I kind of feel like the $10 mark makes/breaks my impulse purchase line.

Oh no, I've played the demo. I'm quasi-interested even though I'm quite positive I'll never finish it, much like Gothic 4. But that $10 sale point is kind of a sticking point. I'll probably still get it.

Now the front page reflects the game page. It is $10.19.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun are fans of Sanctum, that's reason enough for me to buy it for $2.50. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/07 ... op-75-off/

They've got a quote in there just for you, Chia. They say it's the best tower defense since Defense Grid!

My mistake, it's not $2.50, it's $3.75. It's 2.50 pounds.

To craft the firecracker bomb, I need red shards. Does anyone have any? I just need two!
