This made me laugh, and I think it's pretty spot on: If People Talked About Seinfeld like they Talk about Girls

OK, now I'm reading critques of the show, and apparently, it's supposed to be feminist? That makes me like it less.

Desdemona, that article was far more entertaining than this show has ever been.

Also q-tips are pretty much ruined for me now, so there's that.

Yeah, it officially gets on my nerves now. I watched the season finale of season 2 and it just made me want to throw the remote at the TV.

I'm with you all I think. At first, I was all "oh, this is the anti-Sex and the City, I get it." But now I just want to smack every single person on the show. Until Adam started getting all... I don't even now the word I want to use -rapey? - with his new girlfriend, I was starting to like him the best over all of the friends on the show. But now he sunk himself firmly back into ickville for me.

That said, I'll suck it up and see this season through. I keep telling myself at least I watch this while running on the treadmill, so its not quite as shame-inducing. Was there an episode last week or is tonight's the finale? Nothing recorded on my DVR last week.

And one more thing - yes, Q-tips will never be the same to me either. I now eye that Q-tip box in my bathroom closet with simultaneous fear, suspicion, and revulsion.

It was the finale here anyway, not sure about anywhere else! I used to not pay attention to it really. I would be reading things on here while it was on so I wasn't giving it my full attention. Yesterday when I was sick I watched it properly and just plain hated it. They are all plain irritating and it is pure uncomfortable to watch.

watched both seasons all in one go. At the time I couldn't get enough, because it made me feel better about myself (I had just taken a leave of absence from medical school because of stress) - as much of a mess that I felt like I was, all the characters on the show were bigger messes. After it was over, though, I liked it less - Hanna got super annoying, being so sensitive AND selfish and useless. I got to the point where she was visiting with her parents and going out with a cute pharmacist and making a joke about how she could stay...and I was all why not? You don't have a job, you're trying to be a writer - which you could do ANYWHERE! like somewhere it doesn't cost you money you don't have?! but NO, she has to live in NYC because it's fantastically better than everywhere else, and living elsewhere is for losers!

I also don't quite understand why she dresses so terribly. Onesies with no bra all the time? I totally understand onesie with no bra for days that are a million degrees out, or for sitting around in your own apartment being a slob, or for every once in a while to prove to the world that you don't give a shiitake. But all the time? Why are you making yourself look terrible on purpose? I also feel like she uses her "less-thin-than-Hollywood-norm" body in the nude scenes as a tool to generate...sympathy? Or something? It just feels like body shaming to me. Maybe I feel that way because there isn't a cool, logical, smart, successful character who is not super skinny?

I would say that I like Girls because it's more realistic and gritty than Sex And The City...but that's about it. I'll stick with New Girl for my TV fix.
