So my favorite show of the last couple years is, far and away, the Danish show Borgen. Apparently season 2 is about to air in the UK; it was "broadcast" on LinkTV a couple months ago. They make the shows available periodically online with English subtitles.

Anyone watch this? I haven't managed to convince any IRL friends to check it out online, I have the first season on DVD but only in Danish with Dutch subtitles, and so I have nobody to discuss the show with!!!


Also, apparently there's going to be an American adaptation of the show for NBC. http://www.deadline.com/2011/09/nbc-to- ... on-katims/ Will it be about Congress? It seems like a LOT of stuff will have to be changed, but I can see a similar show made about, say, the Speaker of the House. Maybe. I'm not sold on the idea, though.

OK it looks like season 1 is online for the next week and soon they'll start putting season 2 up. (There aren't very many episodes in a season so y'all can totally catch up this weekend!)

if you like this show (which I have only watched 1 episode of) I think you will love danish tv shows and movies in general!

I finished the Killing (Forbrydelsen) last month and have just started Broen. Do you have any recommendations for other good series?

Nope, I am not a big TV watcher - I haven't even watched those two! But "Riget" is a definite must, and as for movies you have to watch "Festen", "Idioterne", "Mifunes sidste sang" and basically anything Dogme.
