Did anyone else hear this recently?

I was really frustrated listening and was yelling back at my ipod several times.
Jenny Brown sounds like a cool lady, and I admire the work she does. A few times she used some words that I could almost hear audience members roiling about (holocaust, slavery, women's suffrage etc- the usual comparisons that maybe we longtime vegans are cool with but sometimes get noobs upset; no criticising though since i probably couldn't do any better in a face to face interview).
BUT, the interviewer was a real butthead who was directly confrontational, challenging, and then cut JB off several times after claiming veganism was extreme, unrealistic, etc. Because she has health challenges that personally make it impossible to be vegan. And people who can't eat cheese would have problems.

I will listen to it today while I am at my desk. However, I feel compelled to say that unless you are talking about Armenia in the early 20th c., comparisons to the Holocaust are usually wrong (they are in this case). I think industrial agriculture is horrible enough without co-opting another tragedy.

I found the comments very interesting in that there were a number of people who referenced Jenny Brown sounding "culty." There was also a general consensus that it was a terrible interview.

Who interviewed? Lopate hates veganism and must pass off every interview onto someone else.
He is the original source of my spiteatarianism.

It wasn't THAT bad. I mean, the interviewer got super defensive and accused Jenny's cat of not being vegan, but other than that...

PS it's a great book!

Lopate seems to be on vacation and it was the bubbly-sounding woman with two teenage sons, who she manages to work into every interview. I've been listening to her butcher every other interview she's conducted over the last week or so while Lenny is in Provence.

She was on the Diane Rehm show earlier this month, I just caught the segment today on the audio archives. It was definitely a better discussion but I did get a bit annoyed that it seemed like Diane kept wanting to talk about light-hearted stories instead of the crux of her book and mission in life.

It also drove me nuts that Diane tried to brush off animal testing with "they don't do that much anymore, it's just mice now"...yes, still mice, and every other animal they ever tested in the past...I wish Jenny would have pointed out animals normally considered to be pets like cats, dogs etc, that are still routinely used for testing.

I'm glad she's getting some attention with her book. Jenny Brown is awesome.
