I think I would do this except excluding the miniseries and sequels. There's like a dozen Children of the Corns and the Stand alone is what, like 8 hours long? I could never finish the damn thing.

Watched The Gate and Absentia last night. Both started out with great potential but fell apart towards the end.

Yeah, The Gate is whimsical at best. You need to have a solid base of nostalgia for it to appreciate it fully, i think.

I tried Absentia, shut it down after about 10 minutes.

Most of the movies are so bad, though... BUT! I do give props to the following:

The Shining
Pet Sematary
Carrie
The Green Mile
Shawshank Redemption
Hearts in Atlantis
Stand By Me

Prefer the books over movies for the rest.

But that's half the fun XD Night Flier and Quicksilver Highway are both infuriating and hilarious at the same time.

And while I probably wouldn't watch every single sequel or miniseries, I feel like Langoliers and IT would be required.

Guillermo del Toro has said that he would like to direct new versions of It and Pet Sematary. Wow! How freaking cool would that be?

No Tommyknockers or 1408? I also really liked Rose Red and Storm of the Century, too. Though I've not seen either since they were aired. And I think Stand by Me is just awesome. One of the few films that keep my attention every time I watch it from start to finish.

ETA: Pan's Labyrinth and The Orphange are both awesome Del Toro. I was so disappointed with Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. I would totally go see a Del Toro Pet Sematary so long as he promises not to make it suck.

I think IT was a bad book as well as being a bad miniseries, but I'd totally watch del Toro's version.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot, Misery was a pretty good adaptation. I liked the book too but it was too gory to really enjoy.

Yeah, I'll add Misery to my good King movie list.

We watched C.H.U.D. last night for the first time. Slow start, but the last half was pretty rad. It was filmed in '84, and I was surprised how many popular 90s actors were in it, even John Goodman for like not even 5 minutes.

I'm not big on horror movies or gore. For Halloween I usually watch all the Buffy Halloween episodes because they are pure awesome and the cheesy made for TV movies on ABC Family or Lifetime (I'm a sucker for punishment).

Decided to do a King movie last night. Silver Bullet. Found it kind of boring but I was also kind of getting distracted. It gets points for Gary Busey. There are seriously not enough good werewolf movies out there.

Not very scary at all. Definitely a "for the fans" type movie. Love it, though.

My husband's not into Joss Whedon and he loved it, so I think it's watchable for anyone. It has some suspenseful scaryish moments! Mostly laughs though.

Yeah, not scary! But I really enjoyed it. Or I should say I really enjoyed Chris Hemsworth.

I wanted to mention Bloody Reunion (which is currently streaming on netflix) was pretty awesome.

Hellraiser. Is that good? Scary?

I too was disappointed with that movie. So I guess I should say, ALMOST all of his movies rock. Because that one could have been so much better.

This reminds me that I haven't even seen The Shining yet.

Yes! And they're pretty scary for their time period. The farther you get into the Hellraiser series, the less scary (but still entertaining!) it gets.

We watched The Gate last night. I wasn't sure if I wanted to be afraid of the little monster things or adopt one, but they were pretty creepy.

Our friend who's never seen The Exorcist before is coming over tonight, and we're going to watch that and Poltergeist and have a tasty appetizer scary movie night.

I saw The Exorcist and The Omen at waaaay too early of an age. They shaped (scarred?) me for life. Nightmares for weeks, but, oh, the adrenaline rush!

Watched Monster House last night. Hoping to see ParaNorman in a few days, and I'd like to catch Hotel Transylvania soon.

I watched Ghoulies today between cooking and waiting and cooking and waiting. I hadn't seen it since I was pretty young. It was perfect!
