I've started rewatching the show too and am only a few episodes in. It's funny how much I remember even though it's been years since I've seen it. I use to watch the reruns on ABC family every day when that was a thing for have seen most of the show a few times through. I forgot how much I loved the show! Excited to see the specials in November!

I'm at home sick from work and have started re watching ahead of November. Man, I never noticed how annoying Lorelai and Rory are! I loved them both and thought their relationship was awesome when I was younger, now it just seems really bizarre

EVERYONE IS SUPER ANNOYING! I don't know why I'm so addicted to it, maybe because it's realistic that I would hate everybody at a certain point?

Um I totally forgot that Richard and Diggerfather screw over Digger so maniacally. dayummmmm makes you feel bad for him...actually I can't really pinpoint why I hate Digger, like he is fine? but I shudder at the sight of him?

God Rory season 5 is INSUFFERABLE. I mean totally realistic for a privileged beautiful wasp at Yale (SORRY NOT SORRY) but goddddd it's insufferableeeeeeeee. Also I forgot how much I hate Richard and Emily for hating Luke. God.

I just started rewatching in preparation for November. It is really interesting how perspectives change. When the show aired, I was right in between Rory and Lorelai age wise, so I could kind of relate to both. Now that I am older, and a mom, I find some stuff pretty cringeworthy. I mean, not telling Rory you are going to date her teacher? Inviting Dean over for movie night? Oh Lorelai, what are you thinking?

I still love the show though.

I like April. But now in season 7 I am so mad at Luke and Christopher and Marty. They all suck.

I think I might stop in my rewatch when Luke & Lorelai break up and then skip to the finale. Unless people tell me specific good episodes to catch in between (& please do!) I don't think I can handle them fighting and stuff.

I'd at least watch the last 3 eps of season 7. Watching rory reject Logan is fun.

Rory's relationships with Dean and Jess squick me out. I didn't really notice it much when I watched it as a teen. I think I thought the boyfriends were dicks but I didn't recognize the emotional abuse. She's just constantly tip-toeing to spare their fee-fees and they yell or snap at her a lot, whereas she usually doesn't say anything harsh when they're being crassholes. Ugh, what a crappy message!

Ugh yeah, it's pretty terrible. And lorelai, having only been in bad relationships as well also thinks it's normal so rory didn't have a great role model in that dept.

Does anyone listen to the Gilmore Guys? I listened to two and I'm obsessed, it's so funny, especially when they have great guests. Love it!

I really am screaming at the tv a lot lately because Lorelai doesn't tell her parents off for being so mean to Luke. It's so wrong. So so wrong.

HG has officially given up and said he doesn't mind if I watch it without him :)

I must admit it has annoyed me more second time around. I still love it though.

I love Gilmore Guys and listen to them pretty religiously - their episodes go to the front of my podcast queue unless it is a Gilmail Guys.

So sad that they're winding down and that I couldn't afford tickets to their Toronto Show. If they actually do Bunhead Bros I am so in.

I tried listening to one Gilmore guys after I just watched a season 6 episode, but whyyyyyy is it so long? Are all the episodes really 2 to 3 hours? That would take me a full week of driving to and from work to finish one.

I've listened to 2 that were an hour and a 1/2 each and that was pushing it! Some are 3 hours?! JFC! I listened to a live show with Jason Mantzoukas who is F-ING HILARIOUS like I need to find everything he's ever done because he was so amazing on it, and an interview with Scott Patterson. I thought the latter would be like a total swoonfest for me but in real life he's just like total LA actor person, not Luke. Le sighh. (for the best.)

are you guys listening at normal speed? i listen to a lot of my podcasts at 1.5x speed so i can get through them faster.

also, off-topic, but jason mantzoukas is hilarious every time he's on the comedy bang bang podcast, so those are worth looking up.

thanks! Must find! I tried listening to some How Did This Get Made but I wasn't a fan. Too hard to listen to people talk about movies without butting in!

I have seen all of this show, multiple times, but in this rewatch (I'm 1/2 through season 6) I am STILL holding on to SUCH HOPE that Lane doesn't marry Zack. IS IT POSSIBLE? SAY IT'S POSSIBLE.

Things I want for the reunion eps:

- Lorelai and Luke to be HAPPILY MARRIED
- Not too much Logan & crew
- LANE TO BE DIVORCED FROM ZACK, married to Dave Rygalski, and in a famous band
- A nice memorial for Edward Herrmann
- Emily to have a "special female companion" (best idea from Mallory Ortberg)
- Pictures of Paul Anka who I assume has died (cryyy) and a new adorable dog in the house
- Lots and lots of Patti and Babette
- I honestly don't have an opinion about Rory. All I know is that she might be an alien, reverse aging and all.
